I fail at background replication. LAUGHING ON LINE, what's next (speaking of memes...), "Carmelldansen Kat?" YES. SOMEONE DO THAT. NOW.

Why am I the only one who thinks it might be easier just to tie a string to the blinker stone and throw the stone while holding onto the other end of the string? Everything's gotta be robots this and magic that. First, if you drop a rock tied to a string down the side of a cliff, it will get caught on the edge of the cliff... pull the rock back and throw it a little farther out. It will get stuck on a different part of the cliff. Pull it back again and throw it even farther. Ooops, it went in the water. Repeat a few million times. Since retrieving the rock is not a problem, why bother with the string? Second, we don't know how deep the ravine is, but it was deep enough for Annie to have a flashback and get rescued by birds before hitting the water. How much string do you think they'd need? What are the chances that this immensely long string wouldn't get caught on the rocks and break when they tried to pull on it? Lastly, this is a fantasy story featuring robots and magic. What are you expecting?

According to TV Tropes' article on the subject, the original Caramelldansen video featured characters from the dating sim Potopan. The original Leekspin girl is from the anime Bleach. However, since there seems to be a concerted effort to make Caramelldansen videos for every franchise, ever, I'm pretty confident there's already a version of the Caramelldansen song using Bleach characters. As an aside, the Finnish band Louituma are the ones who performed the version of "Ieva's Polka" featured in the original Leekspin flash animation. The Leekspin excerpt does not do justice to the awesomeness of the full song.

They picked the best video and the best sound and combined them~

Because it's awesome. And now we need a programmer to make it happen.
