And Annie looks duly shocked.
That said, I'm not sure if this page is sad, funny or both at once.

Oh god, I would totally have either poor Kat or Annie's expression after seeing that little home movie.

In particular, Kat's expression in the fourth panel is heartbreaking.
Well done, Tom. One of the most powerful strips ever.

That's so sad!
Are the robots referring to Kat's face or Kingbot's face in that last panel?
Also, look it's Skywatcher and Robot in the background!

It's interesting that the robots have seen through Diego's little bit of self-deception on his deathbed, and rightly see him as responsible for her death.

I didn't notice/remember Kat's bismuth symbol before now.
Also, I guess Kat's shoulders were colder than Annie's neck.

Wow-- how do you explain to someone that their creator, who they so obviously revere, was actually a psychopath? I certainly don't envy Kat's position right now...

I laughed a bit at the combination of the last few panels and Tom's commentary.

Are the robots referring to Kat's face or Kingbot's face in that last panel? I think they are referring to Kat's face. Kingbot seems to be the one saying 'oh no!' The girls are probably weeping.

They way she is crying in the last panel is so masterfully depicted. In my mind she is crying so hard it is breaking my heart.

The girls expressions are wonderfully depicted. Its nice to see that there are still some things that shock Annie out there, even if it is something so terrible. I also love that the robots weren't really fooled by Diego, even if they do think of him as their "father". A wonderful page.

I'm not sure she could explain this one in any articulate way even to herself. She seems to be pressed beyond usual "Without swearing? Then nothing." and "Holy... Cow!" states, and into speechless shock. It's interesting that the robots have seen through Diego's little bit of self-deception on his deathbed, and rightly see him as responsible for her death. It's not like they don't have a rather compelling evidence now...

For crying out loud, bots... She's a kid! You expect her to have answers for that? Diego was insane, and his "love" was about possessing Jeane, rather than being real love.

This must be the saddest page I've read in this comic T_T
Poor Kat, she even cries when reading Batman! this surely will have she droping tears for a few days at least.

There is no possible way Tom could have drawn her face to be sad enough. This is better.
Poor Kat.

"Huh. Well, love can make you act in strange ways, I guess."
"I thought love was supposed to be a good thing."
"Oh, it totally is. But... uh, I dunno. Better to have loved and lost than to be... dead or something."

So, is this enough info to fit Jones' requirement for the full story? I think it might be, in Annie's eyes, though she's more likely to rush off trying to save Jeanne than talk to Jones about it.

I don't know how to feel after this page! People are sad, and yet the reactions to the sadness are hilarious. I'm in turmoil!
Several things came to mind:
First) The robots' sincere yet entertaining reaction to a serious situation here remind me of the Discworld Feegles taking it badly when Tiffany tells them off in Wintersmith.
Second) The song One More Robot/Sympathy 3000-21 by The Flaming Lips. It's about a robot who tries to simulate love but doesn't really understand it!

Kat's face when she is about to burst into tears is definitely the most tragic moment in this story so far for me.
And she was so carefree when she was talking about love at the start of this chapter... I think this could easily rob the girls of their childhood! Also, no wonder the robots are so sad and confused.

Man, those robot guys are repetitive.
Poor Kat's really got her job cut out for her. It's finally hit exactly what being angelic to robots entails. Though, honestly, it's pretty hilarious the way Annie eyes Kat in the fourth panel. Plus, lookit the back of the bottom panels: Robot and Skywatcher! I love Tom's little details.

They both look like they could use a hug. I think the robots in the last panel were talking about Kat. If they were, it's so much better then to just draw her crying.

Everyone DID notice, in the last panel, that King Whiteboardbot is redrawing his tears?

Yes, but Kingbot started the rounds of "Oh no! A sad face! The saddest face!" that happens when they see a significantly sad face, which leads us to believe that the robots were addressing Kat instead of Kingbot.

I think this page was masterfully done, we needed kingbot re-drawing his tears as a small joke to release the tension of the last chunk of pages. You can also tell it is time to come out of the dark cause Tom has a blurb beneath the comic again.

Oh thank god other people think this page is funny I thought I was just a monster or something.
My personal thought balloon for Annie is the f-word with an infinite number of u's.
I think Kat is having some sort of horrific, endlessly regressive variation on her reaction to her father's tattoo: a tunnel of sad Kats imagining sad Kats, vanishing into the distance.
