Click here for the new page. This is very strange. I suppose we should have known the Court had satellites, but what will they be used for?

Anthony being on Microsat 5 is too obvious to be true, isn't it? It would explain the bad reception while on the phone but still...
edit: That the Court has (manned?) satellites for what is probable research purposes isn't that strange. We have them in real-life (ISS).
Also I can't shake the idea that Microsat 5 is somehow a nod to Thunderbird 5. Bit silly that would be.

I thought - Gekkostate! Anyone? No? This is my first Chapter end/start since I started Reading Gunnerkrigg. (after marathoning through all of it up until now, of course) Happy and sad at once. Is this how time normally passes? Really sloowly. In the right order?

GC... in SPAAAAACE!!! Moon hijinks notwithstanding. Not that we should not expect that. All those rockets and "reach the stars" posters... As to what would be the satellite used for - becoming God, of course :3 The comic seems to be taking the turn towards epic plot developements for some reason. Or maybe it's just my wishful thinking ;-)
PS. I do not believe Anthony is inside. I would not want to be crammed into that, assuming even the size makes it possible (it is *Micro*sat 5 after all) PS. 2 I am more interested on whether the satellite is also a robot. PS. 3 OR MAYBE ANTHONY UPLOADED INTO A MACHINE what with his emotionless personality and all... anyway I will be going now, never mind me ^^;

PS. I do not believe Anthony is inside. I would not want to be crammed into that, assuming even the size makes it possible (it is *Micro*sat 5 after all) Micro doesn't really say anything. Maybe it's just a small station when compared to _other_ stations the Court has. There is an ambassador from the moon people, we can therefore assume that the Court has the means for regular space travel. As for the size, take a look at pictures from the ISS. The relative size of the living quarters to the size of the solar panels seem about the same here.

I found it strange in the sense of being mysterious, since the picture doesn't tell you much.

But my completely subjective impression is something more akin to a comms sat, not livable in. We shall find out soon On the other hand, I don't believe a moon goddess needs a spaceship to visit Earth. That would be pretty interesting, though, if she did

Look at the "nose" of the satellite: it looks like a head of a robot. If we have Skywatcher and Horse robot, why not Spaceship robot?
Or (second wild speculation): Why is Antimony's father voice in the phone so biased (see the backround)? He is making call from the space station!

First thing I thought was even less likely: Her dad is an astronaut AND a Doctor? gosh golly He must secretly be Dr.Mcninja after he retires his mask.

Anthony Carver to Annie: Hey... I reckon' you've been wondering where I've been, eh? Well, you remember all that research I did, trying to keep your mother alive? Well, that didn't work out so well, but then I took your mother's body and launched it into the core of the sun - she's all fired up and much better now! So... you coming home for the holidays?

So, the Court's own comsat instead of the smashed moonbase? PS. 2 I am more interested on whether the satellite is also a robot. Wrong question. Right question: "Is the satellite a golem or a TicToc?" PS. 3 OR MAYBE ANTHONY UPLOADED INTO A MACHINE what with his emotionless personality and all... anyway I will be going now, never mind me ^^; He looked a bit like the Little Grey Men, by the way. With those big black eyes and all. On the other hand, I don't believe a moon goddess needs a spaceship to visit Earth. That would be pretty interesting, though, if she did "From far away on solar beams", aye. But the same can't be said about the Court's folk visiting Moon.

This is what Sky-Watchers turn into after they go into their chrysalis.

I really don't think Anthony (or anyone else) is aboard that thing. "Microsatellite" or "microsat" usually means that it has a mass between 10 and 100 Kg. From the image I get the feeling Tom is going to stick fairly close to the real world on that kind of details. This Microsat 5 could very well be intelligent and sentient though, and I agree with those who say it probably has some sort of connection to Sky Watcher. I wouldn't be too surprised it Anthony plays a peripheral role (or even none at all) in this chapter. Tom just loves teasing ;D

Or (second wild speculation): Why is Antimony's father voice in the phone so biased (see the backround)? He is making call from the space station! My guess is that Anthony's voice sounds weird, not because he is inside the satellite, but because the phone is relayed via the secret GC communication satellite Microsat 5! ...possibly he even hacked it so that no one can deduce where the call is actually coming from, and the location of Anthony Carver remains unknown. Does that make any sense at all? E: And maybe the satellite is a robot. To be more precise, a comic relief character who will make snarky comments during the call.

(I think it'll probably turn out to be a fairly small robot-based communications satellite.)

I've been reading this comic far too long to expect anything other than a devastatingly clever reinterpretation of the term "main focus" where nothing at all actually gets revealed about the telephone conversation despite 25 pages revolving around it.

I always feel a bit uneasy when the comic deals with the world outside the bounds of the Forest and Court. In my head, the two are in a sort of pocket dimension like the fae realm of Stardust's Wall (and others, I'm sure, but it's the one I'm most recently familiar with). That way, it can be 'in England,' but as big as it needs to be.
I know many people are from outside the Court, and Kat's gone on vacations, but somehow finding some hole in the 'Wall' to walk through on ground level is more comfortable to me. Then again, they have weather, the same sun, the same moon, etc., so there must be some other relationship between the Court and the world at large.
I wonder if there's any other analogous place out there.
