I keep forgetting that Renard is inhabiting a toy designed to hold things.

I was always expecting Annie to be the one to wield the Tooth, so this kinda disappoints me. On the other hand though, it's George who gets it which is awesome, so it's all ok

Interesting. I think both robot's fighting abilities and the use of Coyote's Tooth against Jeanne have been predicted int past discussion threads.
Also: When Coyote gave Annie the Tooth, was this his plan all along?

When Coyote gave Annie the Tooth, was this his plan all along? I doubt it. I'm pretty sure Tom's mentioned somewhere that Coyote doesn't really know about Jeanne. He knows that something is preventing crossings, but he doesn't understand its nature.

Someone's going to lose some fingers by the end of this.

Someone's going to lose some fingers by the end of this. Seconded. Parley had better not just go waving that thing around. Can she even BIP while holding it? Will dragging that thing through hyperspace destroy reality?

Huh. For some reason it never occurred to me that Annie could give the Tooth to someone else, even though this is quite the obvious thing in this particular situation. Now let's see if Robot is going to need some fixing up soon, if Parley spars with that thing.

For some reason, I'm reminded of the Subtle Knife from the book of the same name. Do you think Parley could do something like that by accident when she teleports? On an unrelated note, Parley looks super pretty in panel 4.

Congratulations to all those who called it...
...but I don't think Parley'll be able to use it.
Of course, having said that, I will probably now be wrong.

Well, those who guessed that Annie would offer Coyote's tooth knife should be giving themselves a pat on the back right about now.
I do hope Coyote's allowed that thing to work for people other than Annie as long as they have her permission. Otherwise, it's useless to Parley.

So, with the Coyote Tooth and the Unsichtbarhau, anyone else's first thought was "****, I want to see this animated!" ?

So, with the Coyote Tooth and the Unsichtbarhau, anyone else's first thought was "****, I want to see this animated!" ? Can't see next page!) Hm, interesting, does Court know about this? And isn't too dangerous to use it? P.S.: If Rey had it in his mouth all the time, how he could talk?! Oh man. This is going to end badly. I think so too... Especially, if Annie's father will arrive to ending of that story's part ...

Coyote put your fingerprint on the moon, essentially as an idle boast. I'm not sure swinging his tooth around is great idea... what if you stick it in the earth and it splits the planet in two or something awful? I mean it probably won't - be an awfully shortened story if it did - but it may not be wise to go playing around with things of unknown destructive power.

Has Annie tried turning the tooth into a sword before, besides when coyote showed her? Does she know precisely how? P.S.: If Rey had it in his mouth all the time, how he could talk?! Presumably it was inside his chest. he just chose to spit it out instead of opening a seam. He is a stuffed doll after all.

Bit of speculation about the tooth here: It might not do anything for Parley in the real world but might be useful in the ether. Absolutely no basis for this, but I do agree with folk saying that the tooth might be specifically linked to Annie so might not work.

On an unrelated note, Parley looks super pretty in panel 4. Same thing here, I've commented about it before that it reminds me of the Subtle Knife from the Golden Compass trilogy and that maybe the only thing it doesn't cut is the fabric of reality and bridge dimensions, or rather universes and it was implied there was at least an infinite number of universes in the book. Still though, I thought it was suppoused to work only for Annie.

And in the next page, Annie's hand falls off.
ANNIE: But the binding was already removed! This doesn't make sense!
COYOTE: Oh, what fun is there in making sense?

For some reason, I'm reminded of the Subtle Knife from the book of the same name. That's pretty much how I've been imagining it, too. Will lost some fingers just to claim ownership of the Knife. I feel like you can't just give yourself a nasty cut with this Tooth on accident. It's probably all or nothing, like a lightsaber: passes through everything without resistance.

I wouldn't want to mess with that thing. It seems too powerful to risk using, short of an imminent end of the world disaster scenario.

I wouldn't be surprised if Tom is a fan of the trilogy as well, some of us here have read the books and I think Tom has mentioned the trilogy a few times in formspring. I wouldn't want to mess with that thing. It seems too powerful to risk using, short of an imminent end of the world disaster scenario. *spoiler alert for those who haven't read the trilogy* That's actually a major plot point in the books since misuse of it (forgetting to close the portals didn't help) is what led to the slow 'zombie*' apocalypse of the world that the Subtle Knife origionated from. *Not exactly zombie, but short of spoiling it further, you'd have to read the books.

"Coyote's tooth. This is the weapon of an etheric swordfighter. Not as heavy or as clumsy as a langschwert, but an elegant weapon for a more civilized age." "Also, be care with it, because it could cut the very earth." ;D
