Hrmm....Should we keep my topic or yours? Not to toot my own horn, but mine was up first. That's usually how we do things.

I am curious to see if Jack has any memory of the event, and exactly what the spiders motives were in trying to convince an illusion of whatever the hell it was babbling on about back in zimmyville.

Man, Zimmy and Gamma really do have free reign.
Given how twisted up Zimmy gets because of her condition, I guess I don't blame them for allowing her those liberties, but she's got a mouth on her.

Very well. EightFour needs only delete his post and this will become the thread of discussion. I am unworthy. I still like my title better, but whatever. I wonder how much Jones knows about Zimmy and what could be learned from her. Have it for an avatar, if any so desire it.

Looking at the last panel again, I find it interesting that Jones says "ether" in the water makes Zimmy more relaxed, since the only ether I know that relaxes people is a highly addictive anesthetic. Makes me think of Dr. Wilbur Larch in The Cider House Rules, by John Irving. Larch is a brilliant and charitable doctor (obstetrician/abortionist to be precise) but horribly addicted to ether.

I'm wondering how exactly Jones knew to trigger the power station at exactly the right time.

Aww, poor Rey. xD
I wonder if Jones could tell what was going on inside the illusion? Oh, weekend break.

I'm wondering how exactly Jones knew to trigger the power station at exactly the right time. Because she's Jones. What more reason do you need?

Awwww, I love how Annie embraces Reynard. Too cute. That's my favorite panel on this page too. Annie and Rey have come a long way since their first encounter.

Aww, poor Rey. xD I wonder if Jones could tell what was going on inside the illusion? Oh, weekend break. On the previous occasion when Antimony, Zeta, and Gamma were in Zimmingham together, no time at all passed on the rooftop. So Jones probably signaled for the rain immediately after Annie went in the doorway. The question is, does Jones know what went on in Zimmingham? (Annie: right now, look at Jones etherically. Please?)

By the way: are Jones' ears growing? I checked the archives and her ears did not stick through her hair before.

Curious how Jones knew that Jack wasn't in control of his actions.
Unless, of course, she was watching from the doorway and could see what happened etherically when Zimmy smooshed the spider. In any case, good to see Jones and Reynard again.

They could still charge Jack (and the other children) with violating curfew back in Chapter Nineteen, but being possessed by the Whitelegs was probably sufficient punishment - if anything, it far outweighed the offense.

Zimmy is not afraid to use her freakiness for personal fun. Good, don't be ashamed of what you are, Zimmy!

It's probably not that the magic energy is inherently a relaxant, but it just has that effect on Zimmy because of her condition.

Aww, poor Rey. xD I wonder if Jones could tell what was going on inside the illusion? Oh, weekend break. Yeah, there's a lot of questions I have about this. In the power plant chapter, Zimmy and crew ended up in Zimmyland but appeared to be right there on the roof to everyone else. I imagine they looked like they were standing there in a trance to those who weren't affected. But here, as the rain washes away the illusion, the characters appear to be placed physically in the same positions as when they were in the illusion. This seems to imply they moved around on the rooftop as illusion-time passed. But if they moved around, what was the time scale in relation to reality? What was the distance scale? In the illusion, they seemed to walk a great distance. Were they in danger of falling off the roof? I'm guessing that Jones would not be affected by the illusion and would have just seen some kids on the roof, perhaps walking around in a trance. I hope people see the inconsistency I'm talking about here between the current chapter and what happened in the power plant chapter.
