...not to mention the way the fire from the previous page continues onto this page (As someone awesomely "photoshop"ed together pointed out earlier this thread...page 2 I believe). As far as it being a link to Anja's computer, I think it's a possibility...but why wouldn't she just give him access like she did Donald. Granted their not married, but does that matter to an etheric computer? So, if it was a link to the computer, why not just give him the ability to do a judo chop to get access? Then again, in the comic before it seems as if some of Anja's powers also come from her ability to manipulate her computer rather than just self ability (see how the ring on her left hand seems to be the link to the computer, and it always seems to be the hand she's using when dealing with Rey?). Hrm...I wonder what the limits of Anja's abilities are? edit: err...never mind about the hand comment. Seems she is ambidextrousedit 2: If you reread "Fangs of Summertime" where the picture comes from, it seems that is standard court fair.

More likely the "Eglamore looks too young" bit is just Tom's "I'm not a good artist" at work again.

The topic title covers this post completely. Tom posted a tweet about yesterday´s comic. I hope this is a joke and otherwise I hope it will go well... I hope you're joking about hoping it's a joke. As opposed to, y'know, assuming that it's a joke. Which it clearly is.

Eglamore is the only character in all of comics who can only be identified by the characteristics of his chest.

EDIT: Also, the Latin in that logo is 'land' 'air' 'water' with 'finite good' below it. There are also several fire symbols. And above the the logo you can see the head and tail of an oroboros, strongly suggesting that the logo is in fact a circle which we can only see a small part of. What might the rest of the text say?

What does he want? Follow her until she throws fire at him or what? Did he think Annie would want to see him after ... what? My assumption is that Eglamore doesn't know what's going on -- he was summoned when the alarm went off. I don't think he would've had time to figure out why Annie's upset; he just knows that she's running off into danger. Well, he knows she's really upset now. The big roaring firewall was less than subtle as a hint. But I agree. As far as he knows, Annie is running off for no reason into a dangerous place... although he may have forgotten in the heat of the moment that Coyote invited her there before, so she's most likely safe. He sees Coyote and Co as foes - and for very good reasons. It's just that once he stopped, he got a time to think about what's going on. Hmmm, I got a feeling this page is not what it seems. Eglamore looks too young. Ah, refreshing power of old good adrenaline. The things it does are so far beyond what mere magical chalk can achieve...

I really don't think it's the chalk that's magical... it's all in the symbol.

I just had a thought. The Court wants Antimony within their protection/custody because she's too important—she's the only one holding Reynardine's leash, she has her mother's powers, and she has her mother's diplomatic connections to Gillitie. Annie, for the moment, wants nothing to do with the Court and will doubtless try to avoid returning to them—she's essentially a fugitive. Fortunately, Gillitie Wood is a pretty big area to take refuge in.
Further, even though Annie has not been formally appointed to the position of the Court's Medium (and her shenanigans in this chapter will make it more difficult to get that appointment, assuming she still wants it), it's clear that she has a natural talent for mediation. She has already acted as a de facto medium for the Guides, and has taken it upon herself to be a medium for Jeanne.
Furthermore, though it's a safe bet that Annie will grow taller soon, for the time being she's slightly shorter than Jones, who is herself rather short.
In other words, Antimony is a small medium at large.

Not an easy feat.

Don't know if they'll be impressed in a good way. Maybe they'll give her a treatment that goverments give to spies that know a little too much...

I wonder if the school has a Troubled Youth program (or do they all just go in Chester)? Wonder what their dorms look like...

I wonder if the school has a Troubled Youth program (or do they all just go in Chester)? Wonder what their dorms look like... If and when she goes back I'm betting she'll be under the protection of the forest. So there'll be no programs or detentions for her.

If she goes back she will be under the jurisdiction of the Court as she has always been. The court would take her indiscretions and allegiances into account for her punishment but the forest would hold little sway. If she were to return it means she is willing to submit to the court.
Staying means she wishes to ally herself with the forest.

Gunnerkrigg detention class :
Random dude : Yo, pink-haired, I'm here for skipping classes, what's your story? Antimony : I ran across the bridge to the forest that people aren't allowed to enter and almost burnt my P.E. teacher with firewall that I magically created. Random dude : Sweet!

blulink: If the Court really wants her back, they might work out a deal where she won't be punished if she returns. She also might decide to spend her time in the forest without really "allying" herself with them.

I don't think she ran there with any intent other than to get out of the Court for a while. She's gone to the Wood before for that reason when she was thinking straight, now she's broken by grief and despair and running on instinct.
