I also thought of Eglamore when I read about Spring Heeled Jack.
I'm gonna speculate that the chapter is about (or will at least begin with) Eglamore teaching Annie how to fight, passing on the knowledge of his jumping ability.
The spider and allusion to "Spring Heeled Jack" is either misdirection, or it means Jack will also be featured in a substory.

I have never heard of Spring Heeled Jack! When I saw the spider I thought of Zimmy and then thought "but why would Zimmy be jumping high?"
I am silly.

I have never heard of Spring Heeled Jack! When I saw the spider I thought of Zimmy and then thought "but why would Zimmy be jumping high?" Maybe she sees a mouse and takes a flying leap into Gamma's arms. Dammit why isn't it Monday yet I hate weekends. GC made me hate weekends. ETA: Hey, Jack's stylish arachnid accessory is tentatively identified as the Money Spider from City Face's comments, right? Are any of the loads of species of spider that could refer to any good at jumping? My Spiderman knowledge tells me at least some spiders can jump distances sometimes.

WARNING: The best chapter is approaching at full throttle. According to the data, it is identified as Spring Heeled. NO REFUGE

I thought of Jack first, but I think the bandit's idea is the coolest so far and combines most aspects of the previous theories.
P.S. -- For future reference, #614 shows only one spider one etheric-Jack's face.

Now what I wonder is, will the Jack-thing be: —Mainly a side-story, not really connected to the main storyline, like chapters such as Red Returns or Residential? —Or serve as a revelator/focal element for something in the main storyline, without being directly part of it (such as a science fair chapter, where Zimmy reveals toy-Reynardine). —Or actually end up completly integrated into the main storyline?
I can't wait to know.

I don't think there are any 'side-stories', under your definition. Given that we're not entirely sure the 'main' storyline is at the moment, I'd say that every chapter so far has come under your middle section, a revelator chapter. Of the ones you mention, Red Returns revealed that Ysengrin planted the 'dead' Tic Toc himself, and Residential explained more about the workings of the Court i.e. that they have a process for removing etheric links to the Forest from its plants/creatures. Also that Bob is married to a tree.

My guess: - Jack starts causing trouble via shenanigans
- Annie confronts Zimmy about Jack's head-spider
- Annie squishes the spider in Jack's head
- Jack and Kat start smooching
- Someone dies horribly

GC has a main storyline?
- Court vs. Forest: Coyote/Ys/Rey, Jeanne, Aly, Red. Maybe the robots factor in here too? - Zimmy Arc: Jack and the Facespiders come under this one. - The Mediuming - George and Smitty's tumultuous love affair, and I guess Annie learns some stuff and some robot woman bounces swords off her face. - So Where The Hell Is Annie's Dad, What A Deadbeat: 'Ties'? Nah, that was mostly Court vs. Forest. Otherwise nothing, the damn deadbeat. But it'll probably be relevant in the distant future.
I guess some of them tie together, like the Mediuming with Court vs. Forest, and I guess Annie's Dad will tie in with C vs. F as well if he ever shows up. I think Ysengrin ate him. So by that logic Court vs. Forest is the main story, but that discounts all the Zimmy stuff, which is all very good and nondiscountable.
Personally I figure the main story is Annie and Kat growing up, so as long as they appear in this chapter at some point it's all good.

Another English legend I knew nothing about Since I didn't know the legend at all, my first interpretation of the title was "Spring (the season, symbolizing growth, life, etc.) Heeled (stopped - this may not be a correct definition, but my immediate connection was of when dog owners tell their pet to 'heel' - stop.)" Along that vein, having cobwebs (generally symbolizing age and disuse, to me at least) in your etheric brain is probably not a sign of significant growth and/or health...

... I'd list the arcs somewhat differently, mostly based on the different communities/societies we see. A rough draft:
The Forest (Coyote, Ysengrin, shadow creatures) Chapter 1: The Shadow and the Robot Chapter 14: The Fangs Of Summertime Chapter 20: Coyote Stories Chapter 26: The Old Dog's Tricks The Court (mainly the immediately older generation, and their relationships) Chapter 3: Reynardine Chapter 6: A Handful Of Dirt Chapter 7: Of New And Old Chapter 14: The Fangs Of Summertime Chapter 17: The Medium Beginning Chapter 22: Ties The Guides (ghosts and the guides) Chapter 4: Not Very Scary Chapter 8: Broken Glass And Other Things Chapter 9: Questions and Answers Chapter 16: A Ghost Story Chapter 21: Blinking The Robots Chapter 1: The Shadow and the Robot Chapter 12: Mainly Involves Robots Chapter 18: S1 Chapter 25: Sky Watcher and the Angel The Zimmy Chapter 5: Two Strange Girls Chapter 11:Dobranoc, Gamma Chapter 19: Power Station
... this isn't really a very clean division. I've left out some chapters, and listed some twice -- because of course several chapters are major components of more than one arcs.

Ooh, one more. I figured out the arc I was missing. The Students - mainly about Annie learning to interact with other students in new ways. Chapter 2: Schoolyard Myths Chapter 10: Doctor Disaster Versus The Creepy Space Aliens From Outer Space Chapter 13: A Week For Kat Chapter 23: Terror Castle Of The Jupiter Moon Martians Chapter 24: Residential

The twist will be that it's actually Gamma as the Spring Heeled Jack character. Then we'll find out that Jack is Zimmy's long lost twin brother and that Birminghell was just a hologram.
This chapter will be cowritten by Em Night Shyamalan.

JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK.
I frigging love Jack.
I may be biased, seeing as he has my name, but still. Look at that guy, free-running away from the prefects, hot on his tail. Stopping only to charm the ladies with an enigmatic note and a mysterious wink. She turns to him, startled, aroused- but he's already away, over the rooftops, over the streets, his razor-sharp smile cutting through the foggy night like the stitched-up lips of old Loki himself. Where is he from? Where is he bound? Ask the moon, my friend. Ask the stars and the clouds. You'll find no answer better than the one writ large upon the very face of the night sky itself.
He is so great.
