I think that's everyone, so that's cleared up and nobody has to talk about shipping ever again! Whee! You left out almost all of the crackpairings.

I'm shipping Annie with asexuality. Why? As far as orientations go, it doesn't get nearly the attention it deserves and is often handled poorly in fiction and media (shoutout to Girls with Slingshots for a good ace portrayal). And it'd throw an interesting spin on the whole fire-elementals part of the story.
Honestly though, I've never been much of a shipper but I do tend to have one couple I like. In GC the Donlans and Parley and Smitface take that role. Other than them I'd like to see all the characters hung up on Surma get over that.
Also, dang, I didn't even notice how old most of this thread was when I was reading through it.

Ace!Annie would be totally cool, but I doubt it. Most asexuals show some disgust at least in sexual relationships. At least she would at her age before coming to terms with her sexuality and the sexuality of others. I totally am thinking of crossovers with all the other fandoms now where I ship Ace!characters. Sherlock BBC and Big Bang Theory mainly.

I only used each character once, so there weren't too many crackships I could do without sacrificing canon pairings. I did have Aly/City Face, Jack/Ketrak, and Brinnie/Disaster, if those count.

Tom/Tea! Metashipping or something! Actually, that one is canon. For some senses of the word " ship", anyway. Ace!Annie would be totally cool, but I doubt it. Not happening for several years, if ever. Ace is already over 18, semi-attached to one woman and with a crowd waiting in line.

For it to be a meta ship I think it would have to be a picture of Mr. Siddell drawing a picture of Mr. Siddell with Tea. Or possibly them drawn in a thought bubble over his head. And I would also accept a photograph of him drawing that page if he said it was a romantic date (either in the page in a speech bubble or out loud).

'Ace!' is a common internet label for asexual. Ace!Annie means asexual Annie, not Ace/Annie as in a pairing. The ! is used also to refer to alternate versions of a character, like dark!Harry, male!Jones, etc would mean an evil Harry and a genderbent Jones. If you knew that and were making a joke, it wasn't that funny. Sorry bro.

The fact that she hasn't shown any outward sign she's disgusted by sexual relationships doesn't mean she isn't, it just means that she keeps her emotions to herself as much as possible(which we have direct evidence for.) It's hard to be sure what exactly Carver thinks about anything, really.

Let me get this, uh, straight: "asexuality" is the zero-zero box in an abstract sexuality grid where attracted-to-same-sex and attracted-to-other-sex are modelled as binary variables? In such a model, what percentage of real-life people are estimated to be in this box?

In such a model, what percentage of real-life people are estimated to be in this box? There hasn't been a lot of research into the topic, it's not well understood. There haven't been any comprehensive studies into asexuality that I can recall, at least none with the profile of William Masters and Virginia Johnson's questionnaires and all the other researchers that followed in his their footsteps. I've heard something in the neighborhood of 1% of the population or less, at least for the US, although since it's not a super widely known thing I would not be surprised if it was under-reported.

Hi! The topic of aces prompted me to create an account and, uh, say something!
So I am an asexual myself and it's... not quite the way that Per described for me, though I could just be a weird ace xD I am attracted to both men and women and I'm in a committed relationship with a male right now. However, when it comes to sex? Anything beyond kissing grosses me out. I love to hug and cuddle though.
Sexuality, to me, defines what I'm looking for physically and I am looking for nothing. However, I would describe myself as panromantic - I can form a romantic, loving relationship with pretty much whatever as long as the emotional bonds are there for that.

Glad you're here to give your input, gunslinger262. I have friends at various places along the (a)sexuality spectrum; asexual aromantic, asexual homoromantic, demisexual panromantic, and heterosexual aromantic. There's a lot to it, more than most people realize.
So I think Annie could be asexual; we haven't seen any indication of her being in a situation that would go beyond kissing, so we can't judge her level of discomfort with it. It also wouldn't have to rule out any potential ships.

Hmm... There was that dream imagery in the last chapter where Antimony seemed interested in that forest dude (possibly Kamlen). I think that demonstrates the Woods itself as seductive but if you check out panel 1 vs. panel 6 and Antimony on the previous page it does look like her curves are filling out a little, and I can't help but think that means she is responding not only to the Woods but to forest dude also. And then there was the kiss she inquired about at the end of Faraway Morning. It could be she meant just a goodbye kiss. We don't see her reaction to Jack's response; maybe she's relieved she doesn't have to go through with it, but I don't think she would've offered if she wasn't at least curious about kissing him. But even if I am right is too early to give up the nonsexual!Antimony ship because she could be one of the low libido sort. Welcome to the forums, Gunslinger262! For it to be a meta ship I think it would have to be a picture of Mr. Siddell drawing a picture of Mr. Siddell with Tea. The joke was almost certainly that there was an actual ship featured in that page. Shallow draft, no sails, and looking low in the water with only two young passengers? That's clearly a boat, not a ship. The passengers might be a ship, but not a meta ship. ;D

Again, some asexual people are fine with kissing. I'm pretty sure I didn't disagree with that in my post. I did refer to the name of the ship, the famous Mary Celeste. In kindergarten the class hamster had babies. By popular vote one baby was named Tyrannosaur. But it was a hamster. ;D

Again, some asexual people are fine with kissing. I'm pretty sure I didn't disagree with that in my post. It seemed like you were offering examples of Annie engaging in activities with romantic aspects (such as the kiss thing with Jack) as a contrast to the idea that she could be asexual.

It seemed like you were offering examples of Annie engaging in activities with romantic aspects (such as the kiss thing with Jack) as a contrast to the idea that she could be asexual. Well, I do think there was a suggestion of libido in that dream-image example though it's vague enough that if people disagree that it's there at all I completely understand. I did not intend that as a shot across the bow of any nonsexual!Antimony ship though I guess for some very strict popular definitions of "asexual" it is a foghorn at two degrees starboard on a pitch black night. There is also this. But that response might simply be because she is very young and being teased.
