Hi! Had this account for a while but mainly just enjoyed the comic and reading discussions. I'm on a rereading binge though given recent comic events and noticed something (though it's probably been noted before) :0 www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=674In Chapter 26, when Coyote first teaches Annie how to move things when she's in the ether, there's a stylized depiction of the two of them moving through the forest with Annie on Coyote's back while Ysengrin follows them around throughout. On the bottom left of the page, Coyote makes a loop (with Ysengrin watching from below), and when he does, it shows us ‘two’ Annies who appear to be looking at each other. Foreshadowing for 'Loup' and two Annies, maybe? Your link led me to notice something hadn't seen before: The way the Coyotes are drawn makes it look like they are biting each others' tails.

I didn't see anyone mention this page so I hope I'm not repeating someone pointing out the composition of panel 7 here: www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=646

I think I've a few people mention it in the page threads, but not in this thread. Even if they had mentioned it here, though, I wouldn't worry! The point of this thread isn't to bring up unique revelations, just cool ones that you noticed. And this is definitely some cool foreshadowing of Kat making the Tic-Tocs.

Donald has his own kid and knows what they can be like, James doesn't, only wishes that he did.

rereading some chapters there's no way Kat didn't make the chips Robot and the seraphis have, might even did the code for the shield

rereading some chapters there's no way Kat didn't make the chips Robot and the seraphis have, might even did the code for the shield I hope not, because a) the loops would blow Kat's mind into an angelic hyperdimension, and b) it would be lazy story telling (sweep all the loose ends under the timey-wimey loop).

that's almost worrisome, in the current context....

Valkyries are, of course, psychopomps, by definition. I was just browsing the archives and feeling like we missed something important about Brinnie other than the mere fact of her origin. Such as, why, for example, she was sent to the Court at all.
Anthony's behaviour toward her, and her disgust with his cowardice and lack of follow-through, does much to explain why Odin requires any man desiring her for his wife to be without fear and ride through fire to get to her, though.

Curious why a psychopomp would enroll in GC.... its not like they have any Pomp 101 courses there...

I specifically remember a quote from Tom that valkyries aren't psychopomps but their roles are "slightly different". I assume this is because psychopomps just guides the souls of those who have died, while valkyries are the "choosers of the slain" and actually single out who lives and who survives.

Just checked formspring and yes, Tom said that valkyries are not psychopomps, and that Brinnie has never worked as a psychopomp. I didn't find any quote explaining what valkyries in the GKC universe actually do, but it's probably not important to the comic anyway.

In the Norse mythology, Valkyries are guides of the dead to Hel, from where they are routed to Valhalla if they're meant to be there, and the Norns choose which go where, actually, not the Valkyries or even Odin himself. Sure, if the Gunnerkrigg universe is different, fine

Aside from Kat's limitation of her version of local teleportation, she can have her computer under antarctic permafrost for maximum cooling

That single bird is the Thousand Eyes, not one of them, not a part of a bird band called Thousand Eyes, but each and every one of them is the same bird and it's watching multiple places in multiple times, often overlapping its appearances and interacting with itself. At least that's what Kat seems to believe at the moment

Both?) in a way that different instances appear to be in different dimensions, and all that.

Forgot this little moment with the Tic-Toc. This is just before she went on to find Renard in his cell. An event that influenced a lot of the story. Is that why Kat sent the bot?
