I'm curious if the place Parley teleported the gang to was her dorm room, which I doubt since I would think that they would be in the central Court area, going from what Annie mentions about the year 8 dorms. Also I would imagine that they would be a bit more bizarre, given how the year 8 dorms are on platforms situated over a bottomless pit. I believe that was Parley's Year 11 dorm room, yes. If they weren't in a in-bounds part of the Court, Jones wouldn't be allowing Smith to wander off by himself.

Why? If they stammered around it long enough, giving things little "nuuudge" may well improve situation. Eventually. I agree. I don't really see how anything Jones did was cruel. It's not like she expected Parley to teleport them all to her room. And once they got there, she was very diplomatic about it all. Reynardine was the one who was a little cruel

I'm really interested in how far in advance Jones planned the whole thing. Did she plan to have Smitty give Parley Disaster's flowers before the session started, like Annie seems to have initially concluded, or sometime after Randy actually gave her the flowers? Did she decide to give everyone a flower because of Andrew's confused reaction, or was that here plan all along? Was she planning to give Andrew the second flower, or did that idea come to here as she was handing out flowers to the rest? Why? If they stammered around it long enough, giving things little "nuuudge" may well improve situation. Eventually. I agree. I don't really see how anything Jones did was cruel. It's not like she expected Parley to teleport them all to her room. And once they got there, she was very diplomatic about it all. Reynardine was the one who was a little cruel She was toying with their emotions to provoke parley's power. And not just anger, like when she was provoking Annie; Teenage romance is stronger and much more embarrassing. Whatever Parley's power, might have been, it would be sure to come out in an embarrassing way. Therefore she intentionally provoked an embarrassing result.

I fail to see why Dr. Disaster is attracted to Jones. Or why anyone would be attracted to Jones aside from admiration of her intellect.

She's actually quite pretty, the way Tom draws her. And I'm straight, FYI.
Also, she's working a bit of that Seven of Nine factor - the cold, calculating girl who still oozes loads of feminine allure. I can't imagine why guys wouldn't be attracted to her.

I fail to see why Dr. Disaster is attracted to Jones. Or why anyone would be attracted to Jones aside from admiration of her intellect. Dr. Randy Disaster is your stereotypical mad scientist (or at least he plays the role of one for his students). Jones' intellect may be the reason that he's attracted to her.

I fail to see why Dr. Disaster is attracted to Jones. Or why anyone would be attracted to Jones aside from admiration of her intellect. Not to be crude*, but I'd. She may not stand out of a crowd, but she's quite attractive, she also has good fashion sense, has a biting sense of humour, and is supremely competent. Both intellectually and otherwise. Competence is hot. If she ever smiled she'd be pushing a 10, but y'know, the whole constant creepy expression of disinterest in almost every single panel she's been in is a slight put off. The single exception I'm aware of being the previously linked page. *Obviously, this was a lie.

Exactly the opposite, I'd have said. People such as Jones are based on are a direct challenge to the pride. It seems like reverse psychology. Telling someone they can't have something is the simplest way to make them want it - it gets someone thinking about it, and it challenges them. Jones won't show she likes people, people feel challenged to make her like them.
It works on me as a reader, too - Jones is the least willing to talk about or in any way enlighten us about her background. Dammit, I have to know!
