I thought that was rather impressive. I could see you working well for either Red or Kat. Nice job! Thanks. I put a lot of effort into it. I was originally thinking of Auditioning for Kat, but Red was just easier for me cause of the wackiness. I could do a Kat audition instead of a Zimmy one next? Thoughts?

Kat and Zimmy? Hm, yeah, okay. Currently recording. After listening to the other auditions I think I misprounounce Annie's name. I say it like "Anti-mony" when I read it in my head. What's the proper way?

Dictionary.com best supports putting the accent on the first syllable and pronouncing the "i" as a schwa. AN-tuh-moe-nee. I think it sounds better with the accent on the second syllable, with a strong short "i" (as in "if") and a schwa for the "o". an-TI-muh-nee. I wonder how Tom actually pronounces it. I'll go ask.

I always heard that it was pronounced like alimony and you just changed the "l" into "nt".

New short audition uploaded. Kat/Zimmy's first meeting, only 25 seconds long, but it'll have to do for now. I'm pretty tired, and my throat has started hurting, so I figure I should give it a rest for a little while. And yeah, I quit right before Zimmy says Annie's name.. XP Just avoided the whole thing.

I always heard that it was pronounced like alimony and you just changed the "l" into "nt". Tom says he pronounces it much like "alimony" and "abalone". Which indicates to me that he pretty well matches Dictionary.Com : accent on the first syllable, a schwa for the "i". (A schwa is sort of a middle vowel sound, stuck between the short versions of the six normal English vowels. It's spelled with each of the six in various different words: about, taken, pencil, eloquent, supply, sibyl.) Given that we can't literally ask Annie herself, Tom's about as authoritative as we can get.

Meagan, I must say that whenever I hear your Annie voice, I get the shivers. What have you done to me?
Oh, and your Kat voice is just as good. Although I think you did mess up the Eep! bit. It sounds like you said "eh..."

It sounds like you said "eh..." I couldn't get "Eep" to sound authentic... everytime I went "eep" it sounded way off. It would throw off the rest of the line... I could get it in there if I went back and added it later. If my Annie voice gives you shivers... You should like this: www.youtube.com/watch?v=U3inHT3dinEWhen it uploads.

Wow, where did you get the music? And your voice has a hint of sadness, like recalling old times or something.

Wow, where did you get the music? And your voice has a hint of sadness, like recalling old times or something. It's from the Coraline sound track. Songs called "Dreaming". Annie is a very melancholy character to me. But at the same time, very lady like and refined. It was much more fun to do then I thought it would be. To concentrate on the nuance. Reading through the earlier stuff in the thread it seems like everyone really wants a British Annie. I could try to pull an accent, but it would be hard. If you guys are dead set on a British voice for Annie, I'd understand, but I'm also completely willing to take the roll.

Agreed. A good voice. I enjoyed it a lot. What do you agree with? Which one do you like? Sorry if I'm being thick. Also happy birthday, according to the forum home page.

I think I accidentally left the page open while several people responded... I was saying I enjoyed hearing your voice. It sounded good. You could do a good Red or Kat. Your work with emotion sounds good. And, having just listened to your Annie, Your... 'emotionless' is good as well. In my head, I har Annie with a 'Deep' voice... Almost exactly the same pitch you use. Kat, in my head, has a higher, more 'girlish' voice.
And thank you. I got to see Coraline as a present. Creepy-Awesome, it was.

Yeah, I think I'd prefer to do Annie to Kat, with some of the crazy voices like Red along the way. I could also do a more mature sounding but similar voice for Surma. I know I sound almost exactly like my mom. Also, Coraline rules. ;D

Alright it's going up now. Honestly, this one was to show you guys the voice modulation for Sivo and to inject a little bit of emotion into Rey's voice. If it's sub-par, I can take it down and try to do another re-record later. EDIT: Linked for when it's done processing. And now I go to bed. 'Night all!

I liked the Sivo a lot. I might suggest holding the mic lower or higher so you don't blow on it. I think you can also fix that by holding a piece of paper between you and it. Other then that, good job. ^_^

I have been contemplating the release of another audition, this time being of a more free-flowing nature. Simply put, I would start at a certain point in the comic (somewhere during the Fangs of Summertime, since it has the most dialogue by characters I could potentially voice) and just read off the lines one after the other. If nothing else, it lets me practice switching voices on the fly. Plus, it gives me a chance to wield my hilarious Coyote voice.

I'd really like to make a combo audition with someone else, with me playing Annie. Does anyone know how to get files off of YouTube? Or if someone wants to work together on something from scratch, we could e-mail the rough files back and forth. I have some pretty good editing software for audio and video so I wouldn't mind putting it together.

Well, things seem to be moving along quite nicely.
By the way, who snazzied up the GKCFanProject home page?

Hm, if there are still spots open I might try to lend my voice to this. I'll have to dig up my webcam.
