Looks like Renard got bwipped too. He should be far enough from the star ocean, at the moment. [edit] Also: Excellent perspective on the last panel. [/edit]

More similarities between GC and HZD: Omega is to Annie what a fast travel pack is to Aloy.

I wonder if Gamma would have a similar "jamming" effect on Omega's power as she does to Zimmy.

I wonder if Gamma would have a similar "jamming" effect on Omega's power as she does to Zimmy. I'm not sure if it's a jamming effect. After all, Annie has a similar effect on Zims, and she isn't jamming anything, and neither does she have a similar effect on Meg.

Will the next page show the Star Ocean as a stylized Ether black hole, or an unearthly Eldritch maw? If the Seed Bismuth made the Etheric-based Court is the Star Ocean the opposite?

All I can focus on is poor Renard's dizzy face. I just want to hug him!

Last chance to put bets on whether Tony is inside working on his spreadsheets and hasn't noticed anything about the distortion yet?

In fact, the entire page would make a nice substitute of today's comic, and vice versa.

I can't remember if we've ever seen Rey look so dizzy before. Cute.

For a minute there, I was thinking they must have reprogrammed the Star Ocean to suck energy from someone other than Zimmy. Then I remembered that the energy for the distortion comes from Zimmy, or maybe IS Zimmy in some sense.
Well, I guess we'll find out what this all means soon enough.

A thought - if the Star Ocean is hurting Zimmy, it might be time for the rude boy and the teenage witch to confront Annie with unfounded accusations again. She's about to be caught looking at the energy-sucking process, side-by-side with Omega, after all!

Unless Shadow has made it back to her by now, Kat must be pretty worried at this point. All she knows is that Annie and Renard got warped...somewhere...by a fake NP.

Edit: Also, I assume Renard relayed the message to Kat the first time Annie got warped away.

Was it ever discussed if Tony would leave to the New World? We didn't see him at the oceanside information meeting, but that would be because he's already filled in.
Tony wouldn't think his daughter would be better off with him gone now, would he? Or reject an etheric world because he thinks Surma would be still alive had she been a regular human being?

Don't think it was discussed, no. And if Annie was worried about the possibility, she...probably wouldn't tell anyone, because she's Annie. So who knows what she thinks. I think he shed that delusion the moment he decided to return to the Court. He knows how happy she was to live with him again, and he wants to be the first one there if she's in trouble. Her powers were one of the things he loved about her. I think he probably understands that a purely human Surma would never have existed. He also despises the leadership of the Court, and none of the people with whom he's seemed even mildly friendly are joining the move. Beyond that, he couldn't even be alone on the New World, since the Court is going there to maximize its powers of surveillance and control. It would be hell for him. Unless he has some plan to sabotage the new Court from the inside so it can never return to Earth, I don't think he'd ever go.

Star Ocean, no! This kind of ether is not good for you! It can make you branch into way too many outcomes! You'll get sued by Square Enix!

I wonder if the ether station(s) was creating smaller variations of this distortion for collection.

I doubt the Court would want him. He's very involved in etheric matters and basically tried some bit of magic himself to contact his dead wife. Must of all, he's the father of what the Court considers one of their main source of trouble.

Is Annie... not wearing underwear?
(yes, I checked previous BWIPs, and Annie's had a leg sticking out in one and her lower half in another, it never looked quite like this.)

Speaking as a person who does not draw a webcomic for a living I'm pretty sure that it's not practical to always be thinking about what other people may see in everything you draw. Speaking as someone who used to draw sometimes, there were times when I would change stuff I drew to make it a little harder to interpret something as something I wasn't trying to draw. This may be one of those times where a change should be considered. I also looked at that panel and thought "butt?" as did people in the comments. I think it's something that could be changed before dead-tree publication pretty easily and without really losing much on the integrity, narrative or artistic front but if it doesn't get changed I also don't think it's a big deal. Probably the easiest thing to do would be just change the color to white. Some color balance in the panel is lost but it gets the point across okay, I think. While doing that I figured drawing underwear on it would just make it look much worse, and it did. I don't think I'll post that, though.

I wonder why it was night in the last page and daylight here. Does time move differently in the distortion?

I wonder why it was night in the last page and daylight here. Does time move differently in the distortion? The first view of the distortion shows at least three different times of day simultaneously. Different places Annie has found herself in since then also had different times of day.

After an establishing shot of the houses near the shore, Omega bwips in as before, bringing Annie and Regard with her. They appear to be on a street where it curves around and downward, allowing Omega to climb up onto a wall. Annie and Renard are disoriented by the sudden teleport.
When Annie remarks that the distortion hasn't made much of a change to this area, Omega replies that the Star Ocean is drawing energy from the distortion, likely implying that its vicinity isn't distorted much for that reason. Climbing up to stand on a wall, Omega then draws Annie's attention to what they can see from their vantage point, which will have to wait until the next page.
I'm catching up, so the next page is already up. No point in speculation about what's there.
