Perhaps it can be inferred that no outside help is coming from that last panel?

I think it means that this distortion is operating like an etheric pocket kingdom right now. Omega's cut off from the greater ether so she's free. Maybe there's special means required to enter from the outside, maybe not, or it may vary depending on who's entering from where.

So Omega is free, does that mean she has been being used against her will for a period of time? Does she wish to stay in this distortion and not go back to the real world where she is being used for whatever purpose?

Looks like Meg's on holiday until something else kicks off.
I wonder what will happen to her if she dies in the distortion vs out of it.
I'm assuming that she currently has a soul under Kat's jurisdiction, being an (unintended) additional New Person. Would she have anything to escort into an afterlife outside of the distortion, considering the procedures she had done?

Just confirmation of what we could infer, I am much more curious about her similarities with Zimmy

I'm more inclined to interpret it as free from the confines of her physical existence and from the "shackles" of omniscience.

Omega could see everything but can't move Jones could walk anywhere unimpeded and see everything but not be creative Zimmy can walk most places but can see things that doesn't exist and exist with static

Bully for Omega, but can we start looking for Zimmy and Gamma sometime soon? They weren't in good shape to begin with and they've still got a dissociated god fighting itselves to the death on top of them. That seems urgent.

This, which also brings into question if she is just enjoying her time there right now, or is willing for the distorsion to be permanent to keep her free "from the rest of the world". This also makes me think if the event she referred to was Annie's predestined death, or rather the present distorsion. On a side note, her Nightcrawler abilities have yet to be explained.

Zimmy questions. So many. Plus, I'm still curious about her reaction to Shadow. What did she see in the original "timeline", that made someone like Shadow dangerous? Does it still exist in this timeline?

But she probably does want to stay.

That last line is actually a bit heartbreaking. She's just been waiting for so very long for the chance to simply walk around like a normal person.
Am I clearing her of all suspicion? No. But still, her existence must have been so painful.

Which may make her feel a kinship with the New People. I wonder whether this is how Robot & the Seraphs knew that a distortion could be used to embody the Ship? Perhaps their scheme in "The Torn Sea" was based on a proposal that Omega supplied, either to them directly or to the Court.

Also - I am wondering as the "future" got more erratic from Omega's "omniscient" view - what did she know of Robot? Of Shadow? She triggers Robot's confession by saying " I want to see" and her curiosity took her off the sidelines to run up to make the statement. If it is a statement of genuine curiosity - what did she know of Robot ahead of time? Or is Robot ALSO a major blindspot for Omega?

Humans jealous of gods and super-powerful beings, gods and super-powerful beings jealous of humans. Animals wanting to be people, people wanting to be animals. Each one having examples of transformation from one to another. The Court really does has everything!

I wonder if many people (including Omega and all the robots) were working with the prediction that Kat would become evil/a shadow of herself and lead the court on even shadier paths. Maybe Annie's existence is the only reason why Kat would spare Robot and be a good "angel" to the new people, and that's why Omega was interested in him and/or Shadow.

I like Omega a lot. For a character who was confined in space, had the role of a nearly omnipotent observer, apparently desired nothing for herself, and spent aeons serving others willingly, she's QUITE ASSERTIVE! The decision to help and to stay was her own. Through her predictions she has managed to move QUITE A LOT OF STRINGS.
And I'm wandering if this was all an extremely patient attempt on her part so she could live normally, although that seems unlikely.

Was Omega ever actually an NPC, or was she just hanging out "in disguise" with the NPCs? (because she wanted to remain free, or not get caught.... or because some other reason having to do with being a former human given a second chance at being a fleshy meatbag)
I think maybe everyone just assumed that she was an NPC? I need to re-read some chapters.
put another way... she seems to be more like Jerrick (godlike entity pretending to be an NPC for the sake of convenience) than Lana (actual NPC. *Edit: probably, but I don't want to get into that right now).

After telling Antimony she wasn't supposed to be alive, Omega continues her thought – she predicted Antimony's death, and from that moment onward Antimony shouldn't have had any further influence on events. But she didn't die, so she continued to affect events, including Kat's actions, and Kat has had the ability to affect the past, as well as the future. Events that shouldn't have been, according to Omega's predictions, are now taking place. Including the distortion, as she clarifies when Renard asks. In the distortion Omega can now walk on her own feet and live separately from the rest of the world, something she was never truly able to do. So while the distortion lasts, Omega considers herself "free."
This, of course, implies that Omega didn't consider herself "free" in the past – though not, I think, because of Charles or the Court. I think she means that she's been affected by her ethereal abilities all her life, and although Charles was able to give her some measure of freedom, she was still confined to one building or even one room, and she may not have been walking on her own feet but rather mechanical contrivances of some kind. Also, she's been affected by her connection to the flood of information from the rest of the world, and for now she isn't.
I still wonder what questions Annie would ask, but I already talked about that. The fact that Omega isn't currently getting information from the outside world doesn't affect most of them, as they're knowledge that Omega has probably had for a long time.
Tom's note is "A blip," referring to Omega's statement about Antimony's death, which was "a blip in a multitude of information."

Maybe somebody already mentioned this, but: In hindsight.... we were all paranoid about Omega in "Into The Distortion" not because she's Zimmy or even related to Zimmy (she might still be a great-aunt or something), but because she's a predictive machine. That's how she knew all this stuff.

And I'm wandering if this was all an extremely patient attempt on her part so she could live normally, although that seems unlikely. I'm wondering that too. In the flashback scenes, she was dead-set on living long enough to " reach the event." Nothing was said about why she wanted to. At first glance, the phrasing "should not be" suggests disapproval, but maybe it's just a statement of fact rather than a judgment ("this breaks causality in several different ways, interesting"). I guess it is a stretch to think that Omega knew how the distortion would affect her, since by definition it's an event that was impossible to predict accurately... We'll see.
