Not sure that is really Shadow. Dark-haired NP (whose identity is also in question for many of us) also seems to have doubts.
Prediction: When they all unbwip, Annie will have a ringside seat to the Zimmy/Coyote/Loup Fight of the Year of the Century.

Raven-Hair looks like she's attacking Imposter Shadow. I've said before, this whole Distortion feels like it was created by/ inspired by conflict - the conflict between Coyote and Loup, crashing into Zimmy. That was the last "normal" page before Zimmy activated her thing. Since then, we've had a bunch of conflicts - spiders, the forest creature, Robot on the bridge, killing Sam, even the Riddle Hamster. I wouldn't be surprised if Raven recognized Shadow (Coyote?) through his disguise, and she (Loup? Zimmy?) is still mad at him. |

From Tom's "So that's what that looks like" I assume that means that this is what it looks like, from an external point of view, when people do the scene shifts of the past couple of chapters, if anyone is left behind to witness it (in this case, Renard). |

I don't think this was related to Annie but she's gotten pulled into it I'm with you on this, I'm not certain where this is going but I suspect it has less to do with the Coyote situation and more to do with the Court's preparations for departure and how Kat's work on the robots fits into their plans. If my theory that Base Timeline Kat* either is, or is essential to the creation of the Omega Device is correct, then our raven haired friend may be an agent of the Court/Shadow men sent to keep tabs on Kat and her robots. Especially given that the Seraphs and the court seem interested in Kat for similar, but potentially conflicting reasons. It's even possible some court robots who served as shadow men prior to their conversion into New People retain their loyalty to the court and are working at cross purposes to Robot and the seraphs. We've also seen Shadow express concerns about Robot's fanatic tendencies similar to those Paz expressed re: Kat's blind devotion to her research. Both Kat and Robot have been keeping secrets such as Robot's active collusion with the other Seraph's and Kat's decision to wake Diego's bot's to help her work with the robots, so this could be one of one the New People in robots inner circle trying to keep Shadow from alerting Annie that Kat is about to do something potentially world breaking while Coyote/Loup are preoccupied with the wrong candidate for " emerging new divine source." I see a lot of things that seem to indicate the plotlines related to hidden knowledge we as the audience know but members of the main cast may not be aware of are starting to converge. I don't the it's coincidental that the Courts secret agents share their name with Coyote's glass eyed men. Or that the court seeks to escape the very force that differentiates both Coyote's creations and pre-Kat court robots from humankind. Now the New People have a definitive connection to the ether, something that has been the basis of robot prophecy for who knows how long, and their Angle is starting to awaken at the very same time the court is set to depart in and attempt to free itself from the same primal force that is elevating the New People from their previous status as objects to beings the arbiter and other primal entities recognize as life. * The Kat that went down a " Dark Path" after Base Timeline Annie died when she fell off the bridge in year 7 and presumably kicked off the initial " Kat invents robot birds to travel back in time to save the friend who will help her take a better path" time loop the I suspect we are seeing the final iteration of unfold. |

Its actually possible that our Unknown girl was trying to run past Shadow. Her body and arm in the fifth and sixth panels could be either trying to grab OR trying to sprint.
Which means that The Bwip is either a result of them touching each other, or just because Shadow saw her face in that moment that we don't. We know that Zimmy's had issues with faces in the past, and the fact neither we or Annie would be able to see what Shadow can in those few panels could be telling.
(Alternatively, my crack theory is that the girl is Anthony)

However, one thing we know we can count on Tom for is that we should expect the unexpected and this scenario seems to be heading into a big reveal soon, so all bets about DHMNP are valid at this point. About all we know for certain is that our mysterious friend is clearly not happy about the prospect of answering Annie’s question. And I think we can also safely say that Annie/Rey’s guess that this New Person isn’t who she seems to be is spot on. There is something going on here and DHMNP is not what she is pretending to be. Editing to add: She could also be Jenny or Jack or a weird Jenny/Jack hybrid - when we last saw the two of them they had very good reasons to distrust Annie and Kat re: Zimmy’s safety and every reason to want to quietly scope out what Kat’s been working on for themselves. |
