Does Jerrek in the last panel look more like an ass than a wolf to anyone else? :]

Yeeesh. Other commentors called it. Lana, I am DISSAPOINTED. (First of all, he's really ugly right now.) (Secondly, he just hit you.) (Thirdly, he was rude.) You have TERRIBLE TASTE. And WORSE PRESERVATION SKILLS.

Did we all just collectively forget the kind of romance novels that Lana has professed to read many times? The kind where the man is a giant ass the entire way through but still ends up with the girl anyway.

Somebody page Peter Cetera, it's the power of love. I feel like this moment is an axis on which Loup/Jerrek will eventually swing toward decency & big-heartedness or exploitation & smallness, but either way it's going to be the death of him.
...also, I hope Lana didn't inhale a certain popular fairytale/trope during her reading sessions (she did, she did, there's a beast and a "curse" and everything).

Girl's coming off mad thirsty for sure but to be honest that utter lack of hesitation in seizing the opportunity to become the heroine of her own personal Beauty and the Beast saga is kind of goals.
Like, look, nobody gave these folks any rules about how to approach the enlightened flesh golem experience. They get to do what fulfills them, whatever that may be. So if some random library robot looked out at all that metaphorical life ocean around her and decided "I want to become a pulp romance heroine"? Girl, do it. Live your best shamelessly thirsty life.

"If he loved with all the powers of his puny being, he couldn’t love as much in eighty years as I could in a day." – Wuthering Heights Bloody Marys for breakfast again, it looks like. Anyone else want one?

Another option for what happens next: Lana, powered by her romance-novel understanding of the world, interprets this as a classic beauty and the beast-I'm in love with the monster-I can change him scenario Yep. Oh Lana. The only problem is you're in Gunnerkrigg Court, not one of those books tiktok loves.

My bet is still on “magical boyfriend”. But it goes hilariously pear-shaped either way.

Coyote and Ysengrin are fairy tale characters, and the kiss of a beautiful virgin princess (more or less; I don't see anyone else applying for the position at the moment) is said to have transformative power. It could even be argued that the tragedy in Renard's story stems from his trying to effect the necessary transformation himself and by force instead of by his loved one's gift and for love.

Could easily be wrong but I don't think she cares about 'saving' him, she's all in on the whole unconditional-love-at-all-costs plot.

LANA.
incoming lanas love actually does transform jerrek and makes him better and finishes the goose transformation. not because of her love or her trying to change him but especially BECAUSE she wont change him and means it.

Yeah, another key romance novel plot is "the villain is horrible to everyone but me because he loves me and I understand him." Those may well be the kinds of (highly problematic) books Lana is referencing here.

Honestly I cannot pretend I would not try to do this if I had the self preservation of a teenager with the life experience and impulse control of a toddler. I mean who wouldn't want to grab the opportunity to date an omnipotent god-entity for a while. That's gonna be a wild story to tell years later, with the tiny caveat that she needs to survive being the 'girlfriend'. No biggie.

When Lana first said "I love everything about you" to Jerrek... that wording caught my eye. And I did think "Lana might actually repeat that when she finds out Jerrek is Loup".
It wasn't something that I WISHED for, though.
Of course, Tom only knows what Loup's reaction is going to be.

I don't know if you ever spend time on reddit, but I believe this is once again prime r/BrandNewSentences material.

In love with the idea of being "in love". It can lead to seriously bad choices.
On one hand, having a deity as a SO would certainly have its advantages. On the other hand, she did watch him incinerate Rey's body...

Loup killing Lana just in time for Annie to see is the ending to this scenario, if my understanding of plot progression continues to be right. He probably has a semi touching speech that makes it seem like he isn't gonna off Lana first.
