It could be a trap set [...] by Kat Wildspec: This is an illusion.[...] with Jerrek at the back of the crowd. It's looking like it's a second Loup rather than an illusion now. Should've given Jerrek more credit, he's getting in to character twice over, at the same time. The staff Lana's holding looks like the bismuth-matter manipulators Kat developed, so perhaps the plan is to form a wall in front of him then hold him down with it or something.

But... is Annie aware that Jerrek is Loup??? Could she be planning to trap both of them???

Guess this answers the question whether Loup can be in two places at once.

So, predicting now that this all goes predictably wrong now that we know Jerrek and Loup are the same, however the chapter still ends with Renard tricking Loup in some other way that Loup was not aware of

Nice. I wonder if Jerrek will have to blow his Loup-cover to screw up their plan, or if he'll feign clumsiness and keep up the ruse

Nice. I wonder if Jerrek will have to blow his Loup-cover to screw up their plan, or if he'll feign clumsiness and keep up the ruse Jerrek will 100% go along with their plan and be very helpful in capturing Loup. He wants Annie to like him and he wants for them to lower their guard and stop looking for him. Making sure one of his copies is in a useless but impressive confinement is a great way to achieve that.

My gut says the gang has a plan to capture Loup with arrow related technology, but are going to be foiled by Jerrek now being inculded in the gang.

My guess is "Snare" refers to them snaring Loup, and Loup/Jerrek snaring them in a more subtle way.

JARREK: *points at Loup*
SPIDERMAN: *points at Jerrek and Loup*
KAT: "I think you're in the wrong universe."

Renard has gotten Loup to chase him, and then we see Kat, her face obviously shadowed by a pattern of leaves (pretty artwork) talking to someone off frame, so she and they are hiding, expecting Renard and Loup to come this way. Clearly there's some sort of plan that required this to happen. Then we see who's waiting: Annie, Lana, and Jerrek.
Annie looks focused. Lana has one of Kat's Forest matter reconfiguration tools and looks terrified. Jerrek has no tools that we can see and looks focused as well.
Of course the reason Jerrek looks focused is probably because he's on both sides of this at once. Clearly he's in on the plan. We didn't get to see the moment when Annie told him about this plan (whatever it is), but at that moment he must have decided to go along with it and make it look good. Coyote could be in multiple places at once, so Loup can do it too.
What happens next depends on what exactly the plan is. I'm not sure what it is. It seems to me that a plan to actually capture Loup would require more firepower than just Annie, Kat, and two New People – although who knows, there might be more involved than just them; those might just be the ones we can see on this page. But the plan might not be to actually capture Loup.
It's a writing rule: anytime there's a plan the characters in your story are making and then executing, if you show the audience the plan, it must go wrong. You can show the characters making the plan beforehand, which can set up their expectations for later knocking down and lets you do some character development, but the plan must go wrong in order to build tension. Or you can have the characters make the plan off-camera as Tom's done here, which lets you build tension as the audience sees both the plan and its execution at the same time. You have the option to have it go either right or wrong in this case, but even if it goes perfectly, there's still tension, because the audience doesn't know what the plan is.

And no. Loup acts very differently from how Ysengrin did. The past two chapters showed us he has mastered the art of deception and is a good actor, and now we see he is very aware of how Annie and Renard see him and uses that to his advantage as well. Since the Forest was released, Loup has become a formidable adversary. He might still feel a lot of anger inside him, but the naive agressive old wolf that Ysengrin was he is not.

OK, when Jerrek showed up, the *Emergency Meeting* buzzer popped up in my head.
If the plan is too simple ("Annie & Co. sneak attack"), Loup will escape from this snare. If Annie suspects anything about Jerrek, she's playing a very deep game.
If Loup (the one who's chasing Rey) knows what Jerrek knows, then he ought to expect a trap. Even if Loup doesn't know (or if he feigns ignorance), Jerrek doesn't have to deliberately reveal himself, he just has to be clumsy enough to let Loup escape.
That is, assuming he wants to just escape — i.e. he doesn't deliberately let himself get caught for some reason (for example, gloating "foolish mortals, I outsmarted you" as he reveals Jerrek's true nature, and then the real game begins).
The only way I can see that Annie wins this battle outright - no tricks, no illusions, no "I know you knew I knew" - is if she does suspect Jerrek, and the snare is to catch him, using Loup as the bait.

It seems odd to me that the gang would recruit two NPs - who just happen to be Lana and Jerrek - to snare Loup, unless they know Jerrek is Loup.
My first post here, btw. Hey everybody!

What I mean is that it would make more sense for Parley, Smitty, and Eglamore to be helping Annie, Kat, and Rey with this... and maybe they are, we just haven't seen them yet.

She will see the same as the rest of them... Kat only experiences reality differently when she is in another dimension or similar.
