On a related note, Annie knows that Loup doesn't have the body-hopping power because Renard didn't give it to him. It probably hasn't even occurred to her to suspect that Loup could be masquerading as a living being!
Good point, and I agree, BUT Jolly Elfsberry wasn't real subtle. With Jerrek, we're seeing something more like one of the wood elves in the village turning out to be Coyote, after hanging out and socializing with her and such. But you are right, I totally forgot about Jolly - Annie does (must) know about Coyote's masquerading power.
Which still seems like not enough to make her think of Loup in that connection, but who knows? I still think she's expecting him to show up as himself, or turn out to have been hiding somewhere as himself. Even hiding as an inanimate object might surprise her, given the way he is. I am still quite surprised that he's not only masquerading as a NP boy but also doing a good job of it, and not freaking out and breaking cover at the least provocation.
Thinking back on the early days of Renard with Annie, she first saw him in the body of someone else, though she didn't know that at first. Then, in the body of a stuffed toy, pretending to be inanimate. Then, when Zimmy called him out, as a shape-shifting toy. That's mainly what I was pointing out - she knows Loup doesn't have the power that let Renard do all of that, and may not quite get all of the other possibilities. Such as masquerading as someone that doesn't exist. But Jolly... Hmmm.

I don't believe she ever saw Coyote do this She has, and she knows it.(I see Pyradonis beat me to it.)

The more Loup draws upon the Well of Knowledge, the more he can grasp the world outside his bubble.
Loup may be changing bit by bit as he explores concepts he never imagined before.

Basically Loup's spent the past few minutes independently inventing the basics of all modern physics with his galaxy dog brain. Annie, meanwhile, acts like none of this is even ringing a bell, which implies she's managed to sit through entire courses gaining zero knowledge whatsoever - no thoughts, head empty. Funny that a few minutes ago Loup was scoffing at the idea of everything being made up of tiny stones that vibrate and cling to each other and he just extrapolated from that and figured out modern physics to an accuracy that could be mentioned in conversations with actual professors just to talk to a no-brainer like her

What Annie's getting from Jerrek/Loup's ideas is not that you make a model of a collection of atoms but a model of atomic behavior. Jerrek's reply is that too much abstraction leads to inaccuracy, and he looks for a stick to draw in the dirt with. He thinks of starting with a small enclosed system with a few atoms – or a few somethings, at least, drawing a box with circles inside it. If you know the initial conditions, and the system is closed, you can predict everything.
Except when there's the Ether throwing little etheric monkey wrenches into the works, that is, which might be an oblique way of saying this is why the Court is choosing to relocate to get away from such influences. And then ... Annie questions Jerrek, who's inadvertently mentioned the Ether. As a New Person, Jerrek wouldn't be expected to know much about it, would he? Has Loup blown his cover? Not quite. He tries to recover – he's heard of it! Embarrassed grin. Will Annie pursue this? Probably not. But we'll see.
Meanwhile, when you start with a closed system with just a few entities within it, you start to sound like the early Court. It's not so easy to find your way in from outside, after all.
