This probably belongs in an existing thread, but I couldn't figure out where to put it. Sorry.
Anyway, way back here, we see "Ysengrin planted a seed in him that grew into a new arm." I'm wondering if maybe the important part of this was "Ysengrin planted a seed in him" rather than the part about the arm. Any chance this is where Robot first started down the path towards being a cult leader? Also, note that that comment was made by Annie, who is an unreliable narrator at best in this case - she doesn't know what really happened to Robot while he was in the woods any more than we do. She drew a reasonable inference, but that does not make it true!
The Shadow Man controlling Robot theory is also pretty interesting. Either Coyote or Ysengrin (or both) decided to grow Robot a new arm and send him back with a Shadow Man along. Did one of them actually want to kill Annie? If Coyote was driving events, I could believe it was all meant to cause events to unfold as they have. We also do not know for sure that the Shadow Man was driving! Whoever was in control tried to kidnap Renard and take him back to the forest. Would a random Shadow Man do that? Have we ever seen a Shadow Man talk, other than Shadow 2? All we really know about this particular shadow man is that he had a frowny face.
Well, I guess that's not true - Shadow 2 also claimed that it was the shadow man. So maybe it was in control. I am still skeptical that events are as we thought. If Coyote orchestrated all of this, and influenced Robot to be how he is now (or maybe still controls him), then it puts a very different light on what's gone on. What if all this concern about what happens when Coyote meets or finds out about Kat is useless, because he has been in her very lab, helping events along, all this time?
And, of course, we know that Coyote was on the scene. He didn't kill the bird(s) until just after Annie was safe.
This was all triggered by current events, where I noted that Loup is suddenly comfortable with robots and technology, as well as capable of more subtle activities than previously believed. I think this is going to be my new favorite page for a while. So many implications!
One last observation: what if the extra part is Coyote? All the other Seraphs are in Kat's dog house, so we've never seen if that extra part is normal!
