Hmm, well Coyote made the falling tooth from a rock, to replace the one he made the giggle-tooth-knife out of. The fact it has reverted to a rock suggests that Coyote's power to make and keep it a tooth is now gone. Which maybe means Coyote's powers have left/are leaving Loup(?). Which might mean, this isn't Loup getting insanely angry in the last panel, it is instead maybe Loup actually falling apart, disassociating!?he already didn't have all the powers of coyote to begin with, like his loss of control over the forest which it's safe to assume isn't in the water. so Coyote must have other powers elsewhere or all his powers really required his way of thinking to keep them

But nobody dies and goes into the Ether believing in Loup, because no stories are told about him; until recently he didn't even exist. It's similar with Renard's possession power: although stories have been told about Renard for a long time, he doesn't have that kind of power in them.

See now, this has been the problem with Loup all along, he's one tooth short of a full set. No wonder he's a bit insane.

Anything a typical skilled woodworker is physically capable of, so am I. However, that plus giving me a complete high-end woodworking shop would not make me a skilled woodworker. Loup may have all of Coyote's tools, but if he doesn't know how to use them well...

Parley, get Everyone back to the court right now!
We may well be about to see the limits of her teleportation powers.

Loup may have all of Coyote's tools, but if he doesn't know how to use them well... I don't even know that it's about skill. Imo, Coyote could do impossible things like pulling the moon down for Firehead Girl to poke at because he had no concept of there being anything impossible for him. For beings at Loup and Coyote's power level, I think the real limiter is imagination. Edit: idk that anyone will even see this but it feels too tacky to quote myself - I was thinking about this a bit more and I just want to point out something that I think perfectly illustrates what I'm talking about. All those powers of Coyote's that Loup has been so obsessed with getting back? Coyote didn't always have them! At least not all of them. In Coyote! he adopts entirely new aspects on the fly to suit his whims because, well, why not? Why shouldn't he be able to do that? He's Coyote! Loup has the power, but he's bound by Ys' preconceptions of what is possible - and Ys could not imagine himself being greater than Coyote.

Your body has existed since at least medieval times, Loup, that it has lost one tooth over the years should not be something to get hung up about. --- This is a great page. You can see Loup's thought process; first panel fear/nervousness over the person that is set to kill him; third to fifth panel examining if there is truth in what the memory of Coyote told him, fifth panel shock at Coyote was telling the truth, sixth panel the ensuing rage/madness. That seems plausible. So if the white spot is gone entirely, what does THAT mean? No more veils over his memory? I wonder what else Coyote whispered to him?
I really hope Aata gets taken out here. I really, REALLY do not want him around if Annie ends up powered up or even is just known to have the tooth.

Is there a "what was that plan, anyway" thread? I haven't spotted it yet, so here:
I think Coyote has one more thing he wants to experience - going into the ether. It's almost logical if you're a bored god-dog and have already done all this planning to arrange for yourself to be killed. A lot of the visible parts of his plan seem to be heading for that.
Note that this is not a big answer to what is going on, even if true! Coyote is quite a schemer, and I'm sure his overall plan also encompasses what happens to his power, to Ysengrin, to Loup (both probably going along), to the forest, to the court, to Renard, to Annie, etc.

The reason I bring this up, is that I went back and stared at the page pyradonis linked here, and realized that memory Coyote had his red stripe.
Which is his strength.
Which we saw him give to Ysengrin, triggering the bad event and the creation of Loup.
Well, we know he's tricky! So who can say? Maybe his memory fragments have his full powers!

I guess his memory fragments have the powers he had when he hid them away (so, strength yes, but no possession or control over the trees).
