Jones isn't the only thing that is earthen, or a rock. Personally I think it is likely to restore the Annan river gorge, among other things. I don't know about bringing the gorge back; it had managed to prevent the two sides from fighting each other directly, but it probably also encouraged a spirit of division and mistrust which helped make things worse. Annie would probably want a real solution to the problem - Court and Forest finding a way to live as neighbors harmoniously - rather than just physically restraining them from getting at each other. Still, as I mentioned in another thread, it'd be tempting to see her using the tooth to cut through *something*, thanks to her surname being "Carver". (And now I'm wondering whether Tom had planned whatever she'd use the Tooth for from the very start, since her last name appeared on the very first page.) But there is another Carver. And he is a surgeon. mmh, crazy idea. How to split back Loup in Coyote and Ysengrim? We have Coyote's teeth, we have a surgeon, and we have an item that allow people that normally can't do it to access to the Ether. It is so simple. |

Coyote being Coyote he could have given it to her just to inspire a little chaos and impress upon her his power. I guess splitting him and Ysengrin apart from Loup is as possible as anything else when it comes to a trickster god created from the mind of man. there hasn't been a good outcome to Coyote giving you a power Rey Y's the tooth night be next |

Probably the former in this case; the most likely candidates for the alchemist in the comic are Kat (who's definitely honest) and the Court (who've engaged in a lot of morally questionable - to put it mildly - behavior, but who genuinely appear to be achieving a grand goal instead of trying to rip someone off). I was thinking more of Tom himself, haha. But I suppose the third, proper, way this could fall out is according to the method of the spagyricist. TIL the word "spagyric." Thank you! |

Carving is a form of shaping, a creation. I don't think Coyote would have given Annie the tooth to destroy or to create a new divide. She is a force that brings people together and makes them work together. I think Coyote decided to use that. For now our focus is on Loup, the current chaotic evil villain. But Coyote already told us he would die. It seems likely at this point, with whatever scheme Aata and other Court dudes are unpacking, that the next antagonist will be the Court itself. A different kind of villain that has a vested interest into the erasure of disorder and monsters, and who probably worked faster lately due to the threat of Loup. So if Loup is gone, and neither Ysengrin nor Coyote are resurrected from the dead... who will protect the Forest? And Ysengrin told Annie that the Court was planning to take her "far, far away". I think the tooth will help Annie stand up to the Court in some form. |
