"SURMA"
Honestly, this is a point where its a combination of both Annie's self hatred AND her two forms' individual self-actualization. When you're sure the other is a mirror image of yourself, you can at least immediately meet them on empathic ground. The more time they spend separated from you though, the more they're less YOU and more of a very closely related sibling, which means more places for wedges to be driven.
"SURMA"
Also it distinctly seems like Zimmy is not any one individual here like in previous iterations of Zimmyham, but kind of...IS the place, right now, and is projecting her will through those wandering through her, the way Ravenloft exerts influence on its inhabitants. This is a....uhhh troubling new layer to Zimmy's capabilities.
"SURMA"
Then again, Gamma seems completely unphased by what's going on, outside of worrying for our intrepid survivors. Perhaps this is only new to us.
"SURMA"
STOP THAT SHUT UP

I'm with Courtney on this one, the therapeutic benefit of seeing Surma cannot be denied. The possible traumatic effect of seeing Surma again also cannot be denied.

I think it was established in New Contract that neither annie belongs here, which always left me to wonder where *this* dimension's annie is. But maybe it's not as cut and dry as that. My current understanding is *this* Annie died and the one we've been following is *a* Annie from another universe the moment the tik-tok touched and saved her I was actually sort of under the impression that when Kat freaked out over the supposed existence of an "Annie's dead" dimension, she was just, well...wrong. Like, the insufferable bureaucracy of Salsamel's department just happen to not like stable time loops, so Annie isn't "supposed to be here" according to them because she's only alive due to Sketchy Time Shenanigans. But the Norns' Sketchy Time Shenanigans never actually created an alternate timeline, because they see all time as just one thing. And that's why Kat was so unconditionally cheerful by the end of it all - turns out she was worrying over nothing, and that whole adventure she was dreading is already done and over with!
Of course, I could be completely wrong here. We'll see about that if the Kat from that alternate timeline ever actually shows up!

Or it's 2 departments hating each other and the contract department hates the time one because they used a legal loophole. That then caused them headaches from Kat's arrow usage later

Next page one annie accuses the other of being zimmy, the other tries to GOP the other, rey wont stop saying "Surma" and the elf kids start to wonder if they aren't better off on their own. You know what, screw those elf kids.
