This explains. Next question: so where's Gamma? Count me as another person who suspects that the Court might be responsible - whether just to study Zimmy and see what happens when Gamma isn't around her, or in the hopes of using her as a weapon against Loup. "The Court" is big and mostly empty. Also, currently it remains mostly intact only thanks to the shield… on which they don't seem to have full specification, designer notes or anything at all. Which doesn't really encourage experiments with "background" magic on large scale anywhere near it.

Brightened: View AttachmentI'm 100% certain the resemblance is purely coincidental. A case of parei dollaria, if you will. Thank you, now I can finally see it. No way in hell that is actually supposed to be a $.

Did something happen to Gamma? Well, I'm sorry to tell you this, but...

Top-notch detective work. Next stop, the Voynich Manuscript.

Heck the Court coulda just straight-up grown Gamma in a vat for the express purpose of reducing Zeta events. Certainly wouldn't be the weirdest thing they've ever done.

Well I mean, look at the order of their names. Gamma is the 3rd letter of the Greek alphabet. Zeta is the 6th. They found Gamma first (or grew her in a vat; I don't know). And she's older than Zimmy. They had Gamma first and were looking for somebody to use her ability on.

Would explain how Gamma just happened upon her, didn't fear her. Could be the plot of "American Ultra" film she was sent there to see what happened and fell in love with Zims. Furthering the Court either made or found Gamma's ability and sent is their best idea would be to find a nullification power rather than something all powerful if you've been dealing with Coyote for decades and know of his stories of him seeing others powers and then copying them for himself. Could be part of his plan of having Loup kill himself if Coyote bother to know of Gamma or it's another one of his blind spots like the robot shield, Kat's power blindness in ether, etc

What I'm hoping is that Jack, who is obsessed with Zimmy, will find out quickly what just happened and he and Jenny will intervene like last time. Because this is all making me very anxious.

Ok, the edit makes it irrelevant but: The benefit of having your creation only speak Polish in English-speaking UK is that nobody would understand a word of what she says.

There are quite a number of immigrants from Poland in the UK. If you wanted your artificially created human not to be able to talk to anyone else, it would be smarter not to make her able to speak at all, or in a langugage only you and your fellow mad scientists understand.

I think Tom made it clear that Z & G had parents ((but they are either douchebags who wouldn't be good parents or they're themselves in unusual circumstances and the birth parents, whoever they were, will not feature in the comic)).
In my headcanon, Zimmy's background is a kind of tragic horror movie one, like she was conceived in a 50s-style asylum or psychiatric ward by parents who were non compos mentis, ultimately not cared for or lost track of, and ended up on the streets along with her intense and uncontrollable (but in the ether rationalizable) psychoses. (She's always seemed to me to be a bit of a Foucaltian "madness has had different social meanings and uses at different points in history" kind of character).
I don't know what to think about Gamma, save that she may have been, like many children are, trafficked or sent across to the UK by herself. She has that kind of street urchin vibe when we meet her like she's old enough to get around a little on her own and hide very well if she doesn't want to be found but not old enough to really be able to care for her own needs in a world she can't understand. It probably wasn't a terrifically long time after Z + G got together that they were picked up by the Court.

That would be an AWESOME reversal of expectations, I love it.

When the enemy can use anything you create against you nullification is the only real weapon She's even less of a threat because they didn't bring her near them until they had a way to prevent the chaotic natural of the reality warping. Then made a backup plan with the power station experimenting taking the ether out of the water and could put it back for the real rain
