Well, if the Norns know anything about time, and they do, they'll know that Kat will already have traveled in time once they have clued her in. She's already a veteran time traveler in the future. She's a future past VIP! So ... Brinnie doesn't have to stay in the Conversation Dimension in order for everyone else to be there. It's pretty certain now that they really aren't in the Donlans' home anymore. I thought they might still be there, just with lots of light and special effects that Brinnie was causing. But that theory's out the window, now that Brinnie isn't there and Anja, Kat, and the Annies still are. I think we might have heard of someone else who deals with time and is reclusive.

I think the Norns will decline Kat's request, under the motive that "the loop must renew", and the next Kat has to lost Annie over the bridge to come up with the Tic-tocs, thus giving next Kat in line the opportunity to save Annie etc.

Kat has been out of her element since this chapter started.

Five seconds later, a startled Brinnie reappears: "Mmm, they said: About time!"

Perhaps it's significant that Anja isn't making this request in her own name, maybe because she's been to see them before and already used up her own 'visit' or something.

Brinnie could tell Annie was shifted, but no one told her about Kat and the Tic Toc. Did Brinnie see more of Kat than was obvious to us the readers?

She just trusts that Anja knows what she's doing. A friend makes a simple but extraordinary request, you don't need to sit there and demand they justify the request. It's reasonable to assume this conversation wouldn't be happening if Anja didn't have good reasons.

Kat has been out of her element since this chapter started. This chapter, nothing- she's been out of her element since the interpreter casually dropped the bomb that neither Annie belongs in this timeline, if not sooner.
All things considered, she's handling this remarkably well for a 15/16-year-old, even taking into account the severe anxiety she displayed last chapter.

Unceremoniously called The Clowder, one would hope. Because of the font on my screen, I first read Tom's bottom note as "Noms." I've been reading everyone's comments the same way, now. I hope the The Noms don't mind.

I find that highly improbable. Especially considering that without any time travel meddling the universe's history would just uselessly repeat itself in the exact same way.

True. It has been so for longer than since this chapter started. I think even for 15/16-year old she isn't handling that well, though. It took the Annies discovering the robots in the cellar for her to open up more and for them to convince her to talk to her mother.

I had assumed it was because she caught a glimpse of Kat's ether form, but we don't *know* how her sight works.

Maybe she finds a giant metallic insectoid angel with needle-like threads piercing the ether and a robotic pigeon on top of the head really beautiful! You don't know Brinnie, we don't know Brinnie, maybe she would get along really well with Ketrak!

I think it was more that startled reaction came of Brinnie assuming she was Anja and Donald's daughter because of the strong likeness. Also she used something that could be etheric sight on the Annies to see she was shifted.

I am assuming that Brinnie is smart.

Actually, Anja has a speech impediment. It comes and it goes. "Oh, but I niss going to get a neal at Norns. If they can reopen NcDonald's, why not Norns? They have outdoor tables."
