I think people around here have a strong "Fear of Out Of Character" syndrome. I've got it once, but i passed it (is terrible!) . Also, it's not the first time we see that kat likes VGs, so it's not really OoC either. And it's not that every character in the comic is constantly going around like Indiana uncovering ancient secrets. I mean, they shall have some normal life stuff too, right? As Tom is not doing this for a living, i guess it's allowed to let him have some fun, heh? so please stop, calm down a sec, the comic is definitely not gonna suffer rotting, and we have no meddling executives issues. Calm Down. Breathe. Reread. Laugh. Wait some days. New Chapter. More "serious stuff". Feel better now?

This is Tom work, and as such he does as he pleases with it... it is not OoC, 'cause Kat is like that, the art is very neat, and I for one laughed a lot with it... wondering now if Kat likes to play Diablo, cause number III is coming up... wonder what she would do when that cames out Also, it was a nice break, I entered the site today fully expecting a cover page, and this surprised me, in a positive way

"Metal gear theater 1" I don't know if it's an in-game reference, but if the monday update is a third bonus page I'm gonna dance from joy.

Yeah, let's just see what comes next. Although I'm not fond of this bonus page (never played any part of the game) I wouldn't be displeased by "Metal Gear Theater 2", either. It just would not be Tom's Gunnerkrigg Court if he didn't do whatever he feels like. I want Tom's art, nothing more and nothing less. A couple of weird bonus pages by Tom? Fine by me. etc.

I'm very new here, but as a rather casual reader, I don't see what's wrong with a few pages of spinoff, even ones like this where only a few people (read: people who played Metal Gear Solid, specifically MGS4) will get. Plus, it's funny for those who get it. Sorry if you're an outsider. Snake? Snake? SNAAAAAKE?!

I fully anticipate that people will be super pissed. OH. MY. GOD. Not in the least. You have made my day (and possibly entire week), good sir.

I also think that hel's point is his fear that "Gunnerkrigg Court" is changing from an atmospheric serialized graphic novel about a strange young girl exploring an equally strange school and gradually uncovering the mysteries around it (and her family) into a comedy gag strip. That fear would make a lot more sense if this were more than a single page. ALSO: I didn't have any problem identifying this as Tom's art. It reminded me of the sketch page.

Kat seems like an Action Gamer. So i fully expect her to have Dead Rising LAUGHING ON LINE.

I'm just wondering if this is a reference to the manip' of GC that's been going around involving MGS.

I'm just wondering if this is a reference to the manip' of GC that's been going around involving MGS. I have a strong feeling that Tom knows that most of us (who have seen it) know that he knows that it is.

I don't game but the snot was a particularly nice touch, I thought.
Especially if this is canon. Canon snot FTW.

I don't get the game references. Everything else is golden though.

I have never played any of the Metal Gear Solid games, but I still find it funny. Snake died ingame. Big deal. All protagonists in action games "die" at least once before you beat all the levels. This happens when watching films or reading books too. You discover your favourite character just died or is not who you thought they were and it disappoints you.

Tierra Y Libertad: That sounds like trolling: it's like saying "Kat is stupid for getting emotional over Snake". You are solicitating disaster. This is also Thread Necromancy (Aka: resurrecting dead and forgotten threads without adding meaningful information). I hate flamewars and i constantly try to stop them (sometimes i get the opposite effect, but uh, that's the intention that counts...). Please do not do this. People are bound to disagree STRONGLY with your opinion, and putting your ideas like this is akin to throwing a lit match in a can of fuel oil.

I like the idea of Thread Necromancy. Because that would imply Thread Zomies and zombies are cool! 8) Now we need a Thread Shotgun. Oh wait, I think Tom got that covered being moderator and stuff. Ok, I know I'm not productive here. But Thread Zombiea are just as awesome as Poll Ninjas!
