The latter smacks of genius, but I am outside of the joke. It's a line from the 2006 Sonic the Hedgehog game for XBox 360 and PS3. The original line can be seen in context in this video; the line itself is at 4:45. (There's a bunch of people talking over the game as they play through it; their commentary makes everything far more tolerable. As I said before, it's a bad game: the Sonic fandom is notoriously divisive, yet the terribleness of Sonic the Hedgehog 2006 is one of the few things they can agree on.) |

I think both are correct. Gunnerkrigg shows up in a surprising number of places at TV Tropes. It could be that there are a couple of industrious individuals responsible for it all, of course, but I'd hazard a guess that it's more than that. For instance, there are eight separate people involved in editing the main Gunnerkrigg Court page in the last couple of weeks, according to the history page.

I have yet to do this with boxbot but I have done this with other media in the past, sometimes on purpose. I also start to attach random links to random words in my head after a few hours of reading any of the more popular wikis. Usually something like. "I could really use a beer" and then I will start to random associate words with "really" "use" and "beer" if its really bad it will take me a minute to figure it out and I'll have whole pages dedicated to "really" and "use" in my head. |
