One of you artistically gifted folks needs to make this alternate storyline happen.

Perhaps a more interesting line of speculation is what the other powerful ones are doing with regard to the "death" of Coyote. Presumably they don't care enough about what "Loup" has done to intervene so far but they probably would if, for example, he leaves the Wood to attack them in places besides the Court. Since Loup's quarrel is specifically with the humans of the Court, I doubt he's going to menace the other important etheric beings. Of course, if he succeeds in leveling the Court, there'll be the question of what he'll feel like doing next....

I may be able to shed some light on the "false kidnapping" thing, since no one's taken the conversation in quite this direction yet. I did a couple of these in high school in my group of choir friends as a silly way of celebrating someone graduating or a birthday or similar. The parents are usually in on it/assist the kids doing the "kidnapping." We wore matching shirts and would go out for a midnight meal somewhere that stayed open late. Also, these kids are goobers. I doubt it's anything more seriously intentioned than a practical joke. -- Right now I'm in the "something's up with Annie, thank the gods the real Annie is back" camp, but then again that seems sort of obvious and I'm used to Tom always subverting what I think is going to happen next. So at the same time, I'm not in this camp. Also, (like pyradonis said) Zimmy isn't here because Zimmy doesn't generally (and I say generally because I think she has once, unintentionally) hang out with this group. I do wonder how she's reacting to the forest stuff, though.

Sometimes, Tom takes the most obvious answers... and uses them. Because we all overthink this stuff 90% of the time.
edit;;
that said, I do think its them thinking something is wrong with c!Annie

It could just be morbid curiosity. I mean, say one of your friends suddenly had an exact replica of themselves walk out of the nearest forest. Would you really go, "Eh, nah, I've got stuff to do here at the house, I'll catch the next clone thanks"?

Just pointing out one thing – A couple of chapters ago, a bunch of us were speculating about whether perhaps one of these characters had died due to Loup's attack (Paz or perhaps John, see this bonus page) but now we know none of them did. Phew!

Haha, Annie looks almost disappointed they didn't go with the fake kidnapping
