Because that is where he is stationed.

. Zimmy and Gamma are both from Chester, so that might give some indication. Really? I must have missed that on my first read through. I would say that this leads to two normal houses and two "abnormal", but now that I think about it, Queslet has Kat the gadget genius, Annie the medium-in-training and Winsbury, who's..... well, Winsbury. Plus, briefly, a guy who turned into a bird. So maybe Queslet isn't that normal after all. Stationed? Time to put on my speculation hat. Mort is a spy for Coyote/Muut/some other supernatural thingy we haven't seen yet! Thanks for the answers.

So Mort didn't go to Gunnerkrigg when he was alive, but was stationed there after he became a ghost. Maybe my wild speculation about him isn't so wild after all.

Hi there. I would post this in the thread for the 371 page, but they've resorted to talking about weapons, and since this is for questions...
Tom: I ask because my mind is forcing me to type: The blue jackets that Parley and the Sand-haired kid are wearing. What would they be made of, hypothetically?

They would be made out of heavy cloth I guess.
I assume you are trying to point out the lack of protective gear worn by the students. If so I feel I should point out that the object of the class is not to run at your opponent swinging a sword, but to work on form and economy of movement, with calculated action. As such, the set performed by Parley and her classmate would be fairly slow.

Well, actually, I wasn't trying to say that at all. It's just that I work with cloth a lot to make myself clothing because I can't stand the kind of things people around me wear. (Big Jersey's, and Jeans around the ankles). So I was mainly asking so I could attempt to make a real life copy. Speaking of which, would you mind if I did? If they did have a class where the point was to run at someone swinging a big sword I think there'd be less students in the school.

Ah, in that case I apologise. People on the internet tend to be fairly backhanded when they try to put a point across and it's something I have to deal with fairly often.
Of course I wouldn't mind you making a real version of the jackets in this chapter. Like I said, the material woud be fairly heavy and thick. Perhaps like the kind you would find on a karate gi.
The only thing is I must insist that you show us here on the forums if you do make one!

Perfectly understandable.
Hmmm... I was thinking of using a Canvas-like material in terms of sturdy... maybe then from there a lining of thin fake leather. A Karate Gi would be an interesting idea, however...
And yes, I planned on sharing it on the Fan Art section as soon as I finished. Also, real quick tidbit, the jackets have what appear to be half of a Yin & Yang symbol near where the students thighs are. Just a guess, but would they be made of a metal or a plastic, or something else entirely?

You could try browsing some online stores that sell training equipment for sword-fighting related sports like kendo or fencing. They often say what super cool indestructable fabric those gis are made of.

What is Kat's favorite TV show?

A canvas or even soft leather material would work too.
In my mind those black shapes are just black fabric attached with a metal rivet/button. They serve no function other than decoration, however.

What is Kat's favorite TV show? It's a toss up between X-Files and Quantum Leap.

In light of the Bonus Pages for Chapters Six and Ten, I'm not at all surprised that Kat likes "The X-Files".

Does Reynardine's voice change when he changes shape? Also does it change when he moves body?
When he is in toy mode with sharp teeth, i imagine him to have a sneering Alan Rickman kind of voice, quite sarcastic. But when he appears as a wolf i think of him as sounding much more noble and wise, like Ian McKellen.
Also do you find that people ask you questions about things the strip that you hadn't even thought about?

While his voice might sound a little different depending on what body he is in (for example, he would sound like a girl in a girl's body, a boy in a boy's body, etc) he will always sound like Reynardine.
I don't usually find people ask anything I don't know the answer to. I just don't answer plot specific stuff, or the usual comedy joke questions. Anything else, I'm happy to answer, since I don't exactly get to talk about the comic anywhere else and especially not in real life.

How often do you make impromptu decisions while making the pages? Could you give any examples?
|
|
|
Post by Tom Siddell on Mar 4, 2008 19:16:35 GMT
I don't really. Sometimes, during the time I've finished a page and it goes on-line I have the chance to go over it a lot and change little things such as some dialogue or stuff I'm not happy with art-wise, but other than that my pages usually stay as I plan them.

Oh dear god, Kat has the best taste in T.V ever.
What other subjects do Annie and Kat take? (I don't know if they have options at their age or not.)
Does Annie have a favourite tv show? Assuming she's seen a tv....

= i was reading dresden codak when i encountered a golden winged robot. Now not that iam throwing around plagiarism or anything. But considering dresdan codak and Gunnerkrigg's nature, there must have been a source. What inspired robots appearance? The wings [and such] that is? [below is an example of what iam refering to in dresden codak] dresdencodak.com/cartoons/dc_039.html

Before you ask, this will be explored in the story soon. I can't say what inspired Diaz to design Hob as he did.

Re-reading the archives, I noticed that Ysengrin's arms seem to be trembling every time we see them.
So, I was wondering: Is this because they're, uh, tree-arms, or would he tremble like that no matter what kind of arms he had?

If Antimony have Reynardine permission to do something, could she immediately take it back? For example, if she told Rey that he could take a new body, could she take back permission just before he possesses somebody/something?

Only while he is still in the body she owns the rights to. While he's still there she could give and take permission as much as she wanted.

is the crack that divided the Court and Gillite the result of some natural process? or was it done on purpose? ...and I'm ready to receive the "that will we explored later in the story"
