To make this post relevant to the current strip, do both Annie's have a necklace? I just realized that Court!Annie's pendant is hidden (foreshadowing of something probably, Tom) and we can't see Forest!Annie's at all. Did she even wear it into the forest? I don't think Annie has worn a necklace/pendant since Ys shattered her blinker stone (because that's what her necklace was), so it's weird that this new Annie is edit: I take that back, she was wearing a necklace with her Cool Beans shirt. Which is weird because previously that necklace was her blinker stone...

One problem with the "It's all a scheme of Loup to get Annie to live with him in the forest, by having everyone at Court accept the duplicate in her place".
Loup admitted to Annie (boasted, in fact) that he was the one responsible for the duplicate Annie (not specifying her, but still making it clear once Annie met her that he "created" her). Would Annie want to live with the person who'd inserted that cuckoo into the Court and thereby uprooted her? She'd dislike and distrust him even more after that. He'd have done better to cover up his involvement with the "short-haired Annie". (Of course, this could be another sign that he's not that good at being a trickster, underneath.)

Can't seem to find an example in my quick search though

And she sometimes wears the Tooth as a pendant.

I think there's another side to it too: The founders of the Court either fled or "left" human society behind them. What would change their descendant's minds enough to return? Given that it's been generations since the Court was founded, I think it unlikely that the trouble they were fleeing from (if they really were fleeing trouble - it seems so convenient that these scholars and researchers just happened to settle in the vicinity of the Bismuth Seed that I think it more likely they were running towards something than away from it) would still be going on. (Not to mention that it'd have to be some serious trouble that beings like Coyote, Ysengrin, and Loup for neighbors would seem preferable.) And they can't have completely cut themselves off from human society, given such cases as their recruiting students from outside like Paz - plus the chapter about Mort's backstory mentioned they were helping with the war effort. Coyote, Ysengrin and Renard arrived only later, though.

In which the real bone of contention is explicitly named. Because the entire problem is that they have to compete for his attention. If Anthony wasn't at the Court at this time, the two Annies would have happily teamed up to drive everyone else crazy. Thinking back of Annie's reaction when she found out about Kat and Paz, I am not so sure about that.

Nah, no one else around there has the power to clone a person with their memories intact, so it was obviously him. I think the grift is showing her how little they care for her when she's an outsider, an unknown element.

I think the grift is showing her how little they care for her when she's an outsider, an unknown element. But it's not going to change the fact that Loup is clearly not the kind of person anyone would want to live with. Maybe he's hoping for it being a case of "She'll move in with him because she's nowhere else to go", but I'm not sure even that's going to be enough. Annie would only despise Loup all the more for his actions.

Third of all, all the forest creatures love Loup, and if any of them ever doubt this, he will shred their flesh and grind their bones!

Okay, WOW CourtAnnie. Just WOW.
I'm trying to think of the last time Annie acted as petty, spiteful, and just plain nasty as this, and the only thing I can come up with is her argument with Renard just before the Fire Spike. Or, well, I guess there's her big rant about Tony brainwashing her mother, but that was more "crazy and sad" than "petty and spiteful". Bottom line here is, if Antimony's acting like this, that's a clear sign that this is a straight up EMERGENCY SITUATION for EVERYONE INVOLVED. Can't wait to see how she blows up this time. BOTH versions of her. It'll be spectacular.

Annie's rant has STILL never been disproven. The only evidence anyone can give her to refute her charge is what her mother and father SAID occurred on their trip. Of course the mind controlled and the mind controller are going to have a cover story.
The mind altering drugs slipped into her coffee, the hours strapped to a chair while hypno audio and videos played, none of that will be brought up.

And the time when she shot Jack down to take revenge for something he did while possessed.
