I don't think I've seen anyone touch the subject so far:
Is the hand Anthony touches Annie mk2 with his remaining one or a prosthetic one? I can't quite remember.

It's his left hand, so the natural one.

I don't think we've seen what his prosthetic one looks like post-timeskip so it's very possible that he's got a cyborg hand for a right hand by now.

I was actually trying to color-match it from the little sliver of it we got a page or two back, and it looks to be the same color as the one seen in Evac.
Seems Kat's progress has been slowed down quite a bit by all the goings-on. I wonder how Arthur's doing.

Well... if narrative tradition holds true, the person we have been following around is the one and true Annie. The other one is an impostor. And a soon to be very very crispy impostor if we are to judge by "our" Annie's looks when dad put his hand on her, the impostor's, shoulder. As much as merging would sound fan, I think the impostor is a fairy or a sprite of some kind given the appearance of Annie. Which of course if true begs the question where is Rey all this time (Rey can see in the ether). But on the other, other hand. How was Annie replicated? Does the replica know it's a replica? And if it knows, is it an agent? Are we all who we think we are or are we all impostors?!! I get the feeling Loup split Annie around when this happened. Mainly because this is also the point at which we see her hair suddenly start being longer; I doubt the timeskip was incidental, since Loup appears to have perfect control over the Forest's time (or he wouldn't be able to stop it). Given, he might've already split her once we hear the booms here, since he then talks about Antimony staying forever, but... Still, I think it's a split, not a copy. It was Ysengrin who shattered Annie's stone and identified she'd been using it to project away her problems. It wouldn't be surprising if Loup decided to "solve Annie's problem" by actually splitting those parts of her. Part of why I think this is also just... that anime face Annie made about her father touching other Annie? Last time I recall her doing that, it was actually Zimmy reacting to someone interacting with Gamma. Wouldn't surprise me if a similar concept's at play here; Annie usually has better emotional control.

Rather than a split, I lean more towards Short-haired Annie being a duplicate - or more precisely, a time duplicate. Her being a fake/clone/copy/impostor/"pirated version" is obviously out of the window.

Well if one is a fake, there is one quick way of checking: who is Reynardine beholden to? And if they are duplicates, what happens then?

I think we've all been missing something important: While 2 Annies may complicate the plot in the short term, it provides a convenient method of continuing the story with one while the other goes back in time to become her own great-grandmother.

Can we get two Joneses as well? Can we get 2 Shadow 2 2?

Well if one is a fake, there is one quick way of checking: who is Reynardine beholden to? Except if Rey has to obey who he perceives as the "real Annie".

What I want to know is, does Ysengrin got to that lessons on dealing with OTHER fire elementals... It could be useful in the (maybe) incoming situation... www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=1261In fact,it could even be the property to decide who the "real" one and who the Skull one is.

Well... if narrative tradition holds true, the person we have been following around is the one and true Annie. Wrong. There's a long and storied tradition in fiction of revealing that the main character isn't who they think they are. Especially in mystery-laden plots like this one. Good old "tomato in the mirror" plot.
