I'm debating as to whether I should edit the GC Wikipedia page to reflect this, since it's a pretty huge spoiler at the moment.

Now we are left with the big question of why a public display of violence is followed by a private act of worship.

to all the people that called it, Props. Maybe shes the creator of the robots, and therefore seen as a mother figure.

Photo girl also doesn't look very similar to Jeanne.
I wonder how old this portrait is.

I think my2k was joking. I could of course be wrong But I wholly agree: wowsers! (boom boom ... my apologies.) Very delcious writing from Tom, and artwork, Jeanne's portrait is simply beautiful.

Man. That was unexpected. Additionally, how old does that make these robots?

Maybe these robots were built to remember her? Many cultures do not consider a person dead until they stop being remembered. So maybe she feared being forgotten and built these robots to keep her memory (and thus her soul ) alive?

The clothes she's wearing in the portrait are a lot nicer than her ghost clothes. Can't think why she changed.
So the robots have to be around four hundred years old, judging from the outfit. Maybe the Donlans discovered the robots when they were Kat and Annie's age and adapted them to take CPUs? If they weren't originally supposed to have them, that could explain why Seraph's consciousness was in control, despite his chip being removed and replaced with robots.
Maybe these robots were built to remember her? Many cultures do not consider a person dead until they stop being remembered. So maybe she feared being forgotten and built these robots to keep her memory (and thus her soul ) alive? Seraph implied they were all there when she died, and that and the weaponry suggest a more utilitarian purpose than just remembering her after she died. Personal robot army? She seems pretty martial, judging from the sword and the stabbing people in the head.

Now it all fits, why didn't I see this sooner? They're not robots at all, they're golems! Well, they're not made of clay, but they're inanimate objects with (in some cases vaguely) human form, that have been given life.

It would be pretty classy if the chapter ended on this page.

One more Kat-related flashback to go, I think. Seems incomplete to leave that thread hanging.
Also, I'm now really interested to see what Ghost Jeanne looks like nowadays, since we last saw her in chapter 8 and Tom's art has improved a lot since then.

The clothes she's wearing in the portrait are a lot nicer than her ghost clothes. Can't think why she changed. She was plummeted off the Annan Waters bridge with different clothes than when that painting was painted, obviously. Well, at least she died with different clothes. Usually one wears prettier clothes than usual when one's being painted on a canvas or photographed. Compare this and this. Also, the fact she's at Annan Waters matches. Also, Tom, make something like a wallpaper off the painting.

(Grabbing the mouse may still mean they will resolve the matter of Robot's chip, too.) Also it would be pretty awesome if the flashback included a blatant Jeanne reference which will only be obvious to the readers.

Damn, I should've seen that coming. But why did she attack Antimony?

She used to be the protagonist of the comic. Annie replaced her and she won't have it.

We know that this isn't the last page of the chapter, anyway, since there wasn't an antimony symbol on it. When one appears, then we know that the chapter's over.

We are intrigued.

Also, Jeanne is freakin AWESOME. I always liked sword girl (woman?) and this is just increasing my worship. EDIT: She is also quite pretty.

I wonder about the one thats lying in pieces on the ground from Kat's handiwork tho.. A thought comes to mind. "Jeanne D'Arc"?
