Either Loup is lying (again) or I've always wrongly interpreted Tom Siddell's answers about this: Q: So.... coyote made a big deal about a minor squabble--
TS: Incorrect. He didn't even know about Jeanne and her guy.And more to the point: Q: Did Coyote know Jeanne before he divided the Court and the Woods? Does he know that the Court did something to her (and if so, does he know what)?
TS: No, he knows nothing about her. This could be a case of technically correct though. He could have just seen two souls bound together, not knowing exactly who they were, exactly what their relationship was, their histories, etc. knowing that they were there while knowing nothing about them as people specifically. Interesting that he knew the nature of the device itself, I wonder whether there was any communication between Coyote and the RoTD... And (on the very next page) whether them not seeing eye-to-eye with the 'pomps might be a plot point. Or he could just be powerful enough to discern it at a glance or something. Hmm. I think he just has a very deep understanding of the ether, and the arrow was recognizable to him in a way it wasn't to others. With today's update, agreed.

TS: No, he knows nothing about her.Tom always had a habit of only answering parts of a question, or answering it in ambiguous ways, to avoid giving away plot points. That question is mostly about whether Coyote knew Jeanne personnally, with her tragic love story and all. All Tom said here, is that Coyote doesn't know anything about Jeanne (and we can see Loup doesn't name her, he just calls her "the ghost of the Annan Waters". So Coyote knew about the device, but not who was trapped by it or why). I think it's just deliberate misdirection from Tom here, because the question of Coyote knowing about the arrow was pretty central to that part of the story and he didn't want to give any spoilers.

So far, this chapter has been 24 pages of exposition. I sure hope the payoff is worth it. I will confess that all the exposition is more than half the reason I haven't been posting to the fourms. Loup is still exposing and I don't want to speculate when it feels like the very next page may make the speculation moot. To me, speculating and then being wrong is the point of a forum discussion!
Personally I find it difficult to understand people who complain about exposition in a comic but at the same time will happily plough through dozens of forum pages. Me, I am just happy that we get so much information about the story.

Annie doesn't have to agree to Loup's demands to realise that Coyote's gifts are certainly part of a Coyote plan set in motion in advance, and possibly a way to defeat Loup, and try to use them herself. I think she is already happy with a chance to return to the Court, but doesn't want Loup to realize that. And she probably has a plan to fight him. If memory serves me, the folk-story Ysengrin was a bit thick and greedy (more like Loup than our Y). Renard ended up cunningly killing him. Will Loup merely take Renard bodyswap power, or will Renard need to relinquish it? If Renard returns to the Forest with his dangerous power intact, Loup might gullibly cover his eyes. Leading to a toothy opportunity, perhaps. Nice! But would Annie accept the risk this would for ever kill Ysengrin and Coyote? Either Loup is lying (again) or I've always wrongly interpreted Tom Siddell's answers about this: Q: So.... coyote made a big deal about a minor squabble--

TS: No, he knows nothing about her.Well, in a Big Technicallity, this page www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=1789 may means that Coyote have been listening to all what transpires in "Jeanne" and "The Other Shore"s chapter, so learning all about Jeanne, Annie's deal and deducing the rest.
