yeah, for Jones to be in a stable orbit, she would have to be given some tangential velocity (to have the correct stable tangential velocity at her final height)... but she instead rose about vertically (no tangential increment). There is some magic at play here...

My exact thought when reading the page. We are getting into this again (Although I have to wonder why Jones claims being able to take Annie with her, if Coyote defeated her before. I don't know if Coyete defeated her before or if this new dude has her beat now. I mean she's just in orbit. Sure that would be a big deal for us, but against Jones this is a stall nothing more. For all we know she could have taken Annie in that situation, like maybe if she had a grip on Annie sending her to orbit wouldn't have been viable, since her grip is impossible to measure. The real question is how long is it gonna take Jones to get back, and how is she going to respond. He said "It's not the first time." I understood it as him having placed her in orbit before when she annoyed him. And depending on the orbit she is in, it is a pretty big stall. Like, years long.

But considering what Jones is and how her weight/strength works, I dunno if he can make this a long stall, unless he continually focused on keep her up.

Jones can be as strong as she wants, but if there is nothing to push herself away from, she will stay up. This is vacuum, you cannot just make swimming movements to get to another point. Besides, on the bonus page of the last chapter you can see Jones is not taking any initiative to get down to Earth again. Finally, all physics aside, do you really think a god that can pluck the moon from the sky at his whim bothers with things like orbital mechanics? If he wants her to stay in orbit, she stays in orbit.

Yeah, if he wants her to stay she stays. I just think that about 10 seconds after he stops caring, she will figure out how to come back. Edit-figure out isn't the right phrase, she probably already knows since this is not new.

Counterpoint: she DOESN'T know how to come back, and last time she realized the only solution was simply to wait until gravity brought her back down, as it will with all objects in low-earth orbit that don't propel themselves back up with a power source. Which is why she's folding her arms impatiently.

I just selfishly want the "fight" between Jones and Loup/Coyete to be a little more even then "and now she's in space for a year".
