If Kat doesn't have a kettle or means to make tea, then where did the tea come from? (X-Files theme plays) Everything has a purpose, and I'm sure this whole thing ties into the storyline about robots becoming more human. However, I'm just not thinking it's cute like everyone else is. I definitely would never have said I expected this to be how this plot line played out. However, this comic always subverts my expectations, every time, so I shouldn't complain. I mean... a robot wants to be given a biological body so that he can engage in, ahem, adult activities with his female companion. And they're going to a 15-year-old girl to help them do it. I just don't think that's cute. Forgive me. I don't think it's about sex, specifically. It's about physical intimacy in the broad/complete sense, because the standard robot bodies don't have nerves. For them, a hug or holding hands is not like it is for animals like us. I'm pretty sure there's a scene between Robot and Shadow talking about hugs. I could be wrong. I find it more heartwarming than "cute" in the puppies and babies sense. Imagine being emotional, intelligent and in love, but literally "cold and unfeeling", as in nerveless. Gaining that physical intimacy, whether sexual or not would bring the robots closer to animal methods of interaction, while retaining their robotic methods of interaction (such as communications ports). Which is cool.

I'm pretty sure it was just the standard Humorous Fussing Powers (TM) Hammerspace can have teapots, as well. Just ask Ranma and Akane. Nah, it's cause she's British. Everyone knows the British can just make a cup of tea appear out of nowhere.

Wait, Tom said that Kat does not have tea or a means to brew it on hand. did she accidentally activate her angel powers? It's from a pot that one of the robots made for her about a week ago and she never got around to drinking. It didn't used to be green tea, but it is now.

Kat is a happy couple person. The worst kind. She learned not to mess with Annie's romantic life, but the impulse to force others to find happiness by pairing up has found a new outlet, helping Arthur and Juliet. It's adorable and functional.
This meeting is huge. We are now connecting a group that is in the know, and seems to be heavily tech based, to our core group. This group has information, they have purpose, and are an excellent way to drive plot into a bigger arena.
The story so far has been about the periphery of the court, staying out of business that the current court actually cares about. I mean, Coyote making Annie the forest medium barely got old dude to break his schedule of yawning and being indifferent to students and forest creatures.
To really dig deeper, our heroes need a way to peer into the court, and this group has the means to do it.

Honestly, my first reaction to this was a huge increase in my (slightly unreasonable) anxiety that this comic is just going to keep confirming new ships until there are no friendships left in the entire cast. Also, there goes my hope for some more exposition on the original Shadow Men. *sigh*.
On the other hand, I have to admit Kat's reaction makes up for my sadness somewhat. She is just SO PUMPED to be back in her element again, and it's hilarious! Her facial expressions alone are just awesome.

Look at Arthur's body language. Just look at it. My husband should be so affectionate, heh. No, seriously, he's studied the mannerisms of people with biological bodies as obsessively as one of my friends, a transwoman, studied how to act feminine as part of her transitioning. It's a telling detail.

Your unreasonable anxiety forgets that most, if not all, cast members are monogamous and their relationship does not stop them from being friends with everyone else.

Challenger 2 and several other British fighting vehicles have a hot water dispenser for making tea. Also, if anyone asks, Juliette is Arthur's debugger, she doesn't want people to know they are robosexuals

Wait, Tom said that Kat does not have tea or a means to brew it on hand. did she accidentally activate her angel powers? I'm sure that with Kat's tech prowess, she's probably tinkered up a Star Trek-style replicator by now and never bothered mentioning it. It doesn't have the fancy-schmancy voice interface yet, but as long as you can push a button and get tea, who needs that?
