Chapter Title in first page: Mystery Solved! That's it. We can move to the extra page and start a new chapter. ...... Wait. There's no Antimony logo at the bottom! This is going to be a longer chapter! I have no idea what to think of this page. Like, is "the Shadow Men" their band name, or just a really silly name for their division in the Court, or what? We already know because of gunnerkrigg.com/?p=1616 that "shadow man" is what they call creatures like Shadow. So does that suggest Juliette and Arthur ARE disguised shadow men?? I'm brimming with questions. It should be a silly division for the Court. Tose men who protect the Court from the Shadows. Both in a literal (they look after Shadow incursions) and figurative (they do their work unseen, without disturbing others). Addendum: Contrast to the Dragon Slayers, who are very noticeable protectors of the Court. |

What if Arthur isn't completing Juliette's sentence, just interrupting her with a new one? If that were the case I'd expect the dialogue to have gone: JULIETTE: "We are-" ARTHUR: "Shadow Men!" However if Juliette were trailing off on her own and any real shadow man/men were distant enough to be no immediate threat then it's possible. Juliette could be pausing mid-sentence to tailor how much she tells Kat to Kat's reaction, or because she spots something suspicious. But considering that the room isn't that big I'd expect more alarm. The only other possibility I can think of is that it's a joke on Arthur's part, a joke of the robot kind, since they are the opposite of Coyote's shadow men. |

Is he already caught by the Court, Juliette and Arthur here to ask Kat to help them because "it will speak to no one but you"? Or is he surrounded by his just arrived brethren? He's probably in class right now. Remember when Robot got his first biological arm, Shadow2 wasn't present as well because he was in class. Robot met him later on his way home. |

Now I'm wondering if the Shadow Men were started by people like Jeanne who hated that the court was killing everything natural after the split.
