I'd really like to know more about the vial of Coyote goo, everyone was just awkwardly silent. Is she going to drink it, birth a bunch of Samurai hating babies, who knows, not I.

Does anyone else think this meeting might be about recruiting Kat's talent? "We've seen your work and want to offer you the opportunity to do more", or something similar.

It's not the first time GC has had a walk-and-talk chapter named for something largely incidental.

Zox Tomana Jelly JellybeanThe "phone call" from Anthony came while he was in the Ether (?) -- he sent an enciphered message (which means he suspected that the Court was listening in; confirmed to him a few pages later), but didn't know by which medium it would arrive. Indeed, it's possible that the ensign refers to the interceptor "transferring the call". The meaning of this symbol remains somewhat mysterious (an inner organization of the Court that conducts surveillance and operates the Ether stations); more so its origins (unless it has long been puzzled out on the forums and I only missed the respective posts). We do know that it's intended to contrast with the traditional Seed Bismuth symbol for the Court, though (that's probably the one for diplomatic usage), and that it is always shown in bronze. I find it curious that Kat wears it on her apron here.

I don't think I've heard a conclusive answer on this topic, but some older robots seem to wear the symbol, or a version thereof too, check a few pages of this chapter (S1). Though you could argue it's not entirely the same as some have more dots, or that it aren't dots at all (S1 has 1, some have three or four, one is a shield?), I'd say there are some interesting similarities, and seeing how this giant-camera-for-a-head-robot has the two dots, maybe this kind of rank/insignia thing means they are indeed the surveillance-rank within the court? // wild speccing done. Also. Darnn, I'd never noticed the caller ID thing before

If she doesn't, Tony calling her directly would pretty much be fully out of the realm of possibility: he would *have* to call the Court and have the call transferred to Annie. The Court tracks the kids through their food, so they would immediately know where Annie is. Jones... they probably knew Jones was in the area, but not if she was still by Annie since Jones doesn't eat. Going back over the chapter: their trackers may have had history showing Annie went to Jones' office, and then to the Foley area. When Tony calls in, they probably called up Jones and asked "Is Antimony Carver still with you?" (perhaps thinking Jones took her to the Foley class area) before dispatching someone to actually go and find Annie physically. Since Jones answered "Yes, she is." the Court Switchboard ended up transferring Tony's call to Jones' phone for Annie. I think that made sense. Either that or it was the mad ravings of someone who really ought not be thinking this hard about this comic XD

She has a simple two-way radio to communicate with Kat since she moved out from the year 10 dorms, though. We still have to see her use it.
