Has Eglamore ever slain a dragon?

Do you feel there is something that people should know about the characters that you haven't gotten to tell us yet, or can't because of the way the comic is written? (for example, Annie's current class/daily schedule would be interesting to know, but awkward to fit into the comic in a meaningful way)

1, I made sure I had roughly three months of comics before I started putting them online. That makes alot of sense. I read in the other thread that you ink your comics! I never would have guessed, you blend it together with your coloring so well. On how big of a page do you tend to draw? Not sure what you think inking is, but that's how you get the black lines. I draw on A4.

I recall that at in the beginning you only updated twice-weekly, before eventually upping the pace to thrice-weekly. Did you increase your cache accordingly? If so, what manner of extra-human ability did you tap into to manage this? I just drew more pages.

People don't really need to know their daily schedule.

I was reading back when you were updating twice a week, and I was so excited when you moved up to three days a week. What would convince you to update even MORE often, like four or (dare I say it?) FIVE times a week?
Also, would you consider selling Gunnerkrigg Court merchandise?

Vast sums of money in order to not starve and pay rent while I worked on the comic full time would convince me pretty well.
Yes, I would consider selling merchandise.

I would give you money and/or buy Gunnerkrigg stuff!
Third question: What's keeping you from selling merchandise right now?
EDIT: Sorry to bug you if you've already answered this before. I just don't read the forums much, but I know you've mentioned looking into selling merchandise a number of times in the past and I was wondering what, specifically, was keeping you from doing so. Everyday time constraints? Not wanting to go through the hassle of finding someone to print stuff?

I basically can't think of anything that I think would be good enough and I always end up talking myself out of any idea I come up with.

How about a shirt with the green underbite monster holding a card with a heart on it and saying "It has a heart on it"? Because that would be fun (for me)! In all seriousness though, I'm not sure what kinds of merchandise you'd want to start selling first, but why not put some of your ideas in a poll and ask readers to vote on what they'd most like to see and purchase? Whether you believe in your own abilities or not, you DO have good ideas in general. If you didn't, people wouldn't love Gunnerkrigg so much! And heck, you could get someone like topatoco.com/hey/ to do just about everything actually involved in making and distributing the merchandise (they are an internet t-shirt empire, you know). Basically, what I am saying is, give me something to buy, or put up one of those tickers that says "this much money for an extra update," and I will give you some of my money.

Seconded. I'd totally buy a t-shirt. It doesn't have to be funny. Just one with some of the beautiful art you do. You have a lot of characters that would make for awesome/cute/pretty shirts and they don't need any text or joke at all. I know a ton of people would buy a boxbot shirt, I'd totally get a Mort or Shadow2 shirt, and I also love the way you draw Coyote. Seriously, why not let us be nerds in public and pay you to advertise for you? ^_^

I'd go for a Shadow2 shirt with the word "SQUEE!" printed on it...

Given the extra income myself (I'm not so financially sound right now), I'd but a t-shirt of ANY GC moment or character, or a Reynardine plushie... I love the comic so much I'd even buy a terrible thing like a Boxbot plushie!

I really liked the t-shirt designs you did a while back. I would absolutely buy anything with Coyote or the Forest's sign. Or Mort.

People don't really need to know their daily schedule. Well, that's no fun. The point was, is there anything you've spent time on organizing and figuring out that, honestly, has no real baring on the story, but could make for interesting trivia? I mean, we don't need to know anything about whether Kat's left handed or right handed or what kind of a week Eglamore would have teaching classes or what Jones' facebook would look like or what the layout of the court that Annie uses for school is like, but it's interesting because... well, it's insight into the more mundane parts of life that take up the most time and the least conversation, ie what everybody else in the world goes through, and it's easier to relate to someone when you know that they're going through the same things you do. Just my 2 cents.

Hey Tom, have you ever considered making one of those ad banners that always show up on webcomic sites for GC? You know, one of those tall images with the attractive artwork and inviting text that just gets you roped in as soon as you see it?

You mentioned once in an interview somewhere on the Internet that you originally intended Chapter Seven to be the series finale. Is this correct? (While it would be a premature ending to the story - too many questions left unanswered - it echoes the beginning of the comic with Robot's return, a good quality for an ending.)

I don't remember saying that. It would be a pretty strange ending.

What's your opinion of people who "milk" a series for all that its worth (i.e. disney and hannah montana) if not would you do that to GC and make, for example Annie "barbie" or "My Little Shadow" ?

You've just drawn the final page.
The story's over.
The comic's done.
Will you get rid of the three month buffer then, and give use three months worth of reading in a single day, or will you continue until the end?

You seem to frequently write about feeling unhealthy in your twitter, Tom. Have you considered making an appointment with a doctor?

Dude... for a second there, I thought you were echoing the sentiments of one of the commenters on Monday's update... ie: 'this is the end of Gunnerkrigg'... then I re-read, and figured out you were presenting a 'what-if' scenario, and calmed down.

Equally importantly, would you start another comic?
