If you are holding a blinkerstone in your hand, can you use it to see things around you in the ethereal plane? Can a person eventually learn how to do that without using the stone? Yes.

The similarities of Zimmy's phase-outs and the mental and physical effects of panic disorder were striking to the point that I had to create an account just to ask whether this would be, to a part, an inspiration for her condition?
On the side, I tried to make sure this question hasn't been asked - and answered - before, but to be honest, I most likely made a hash out of that. The size of this topic alone is rather intimidating, not to even think of the fact that this appears to be the second of it's kind. Assuming it has been answered previously, please feel free to ignore it.

Actually you're quite right. Zimmy often gets attacks similar to panic disorder or panic attacks, especially in times of stress. The "experiment" over at the power plant just happened to kick off one of these attacks and, for some reason, aplified it.

Hey Tom, I was wondering if I could talk to you about this forum. It's okay the way it is and I like coming here, but it feels rather...wasted. You're getting 100 visits a day from registered users, but all they have to look at is one message board about the comic. I mean, it works, but it has a lot of untapped potential that most other prominent webcomics have taken advantage of by now.
I waded through the members list and found you to be the only member to hold the title Administrator. I know you're a busy guy, and I think asking you to spend who knows how long working on a forum to boot would be rather unreasonable. So why don't you appoint some additional administrators?
Find some members who have proven themselves to be competent individuals, who know a thing or two about running a forum, and let them deal with it. Your workload increases by zilch and you get a more expansive and inviting forum to draw in more readers. They can add some custom graphics, additional boards, and remix the color scheme (the off-indigo just feels a little...off).
If you're feeling lazy and don't want to actually go out and find people to be admins, just give the thumbs-up and let the members choose from their own two or three worthy enough to hold the title. All you'd have to do is make the appointments when the final names are chosen. If you're feeling really lazy, just give it to the people with the highest post counts. I'm sure they can do something.
Just a (hopefully) well-meaning suggestion. I hope I'm not asking anything that has already been shot down for whatever reason.

If Reynardine were to somehow return to his original body, would his personality return what it was before he accepted Coyote's gift and underwent those unpleasant experiences at the Court? Or have those experiences had a genuinely lasting effect on him? I'm asking this because I'm not sure where the personality changes caused by his physical form end and the personality changes caused by his past experiences begin (or whether the latter changed even occurred at all).

Reynardine's experiences will continue to shape his personality, no matter what body he is in. Despite what he said to Kat, he changes his body to suit his mood, not the other way around.

LTFFTP here.
How do people enter/leave the Court? The only exit I see is the bridge to the forest, where it's clear humans are not welcome.

Well, that begs the question: Is Gunnerkrigg Court on the British mainland? Or is some other barrier than the sea dividing it and the forest from the mundane world?

Are there any story discussion threads from way in the beginning? I always find them fascinating and helps to make sense of all the speculation.

I would assume not, the forum itself isn't that old.

The forum started around chapter 11, so that's how far the page discussion threads go.

And there isn't much to do here, as Tom pointed out somewhere (or was it a dream?): the people here are generally not jerks. 2. I think the color scheme is intentional. It's similar to the page, the twitter box and to the color scheme on Tom's pc.

How well would he fair in a fight with Jones?

Not very well at all. But he's smart enough to know not to try.

Does Mort have the "bedsheet phantasm" look by default, or does he just always take that form for consistency's sake? He can obviously change forms/make illusions that he is whatever he wants to be. So why isn't he the pale image of his former body like Jeanne?

So why isn't he the pale image of his former body like Jeanne? Probably because it wouldn't be as funny if he did; Mort's designed as being a humorous figure (though in a sweet, affectionate way), while Jeanne and Martin (the two ghosts who look far more human) were much more serious. (That's probably also why we aren't told anything about Mort's life as a human.)

I always pictured him being slightly younger than them, and the story of a boy that age meeting his untimely end would be very depressing no matter how you approach it. I imagine that Mort occasionally takes the form of furniture like he does in chapter 17 so he can eavesdrop on people and keep updated on the goings-on in the Court. We know it certainly wouldn't be above him, but he isn't a gossip or anything. For that matter, we don't even know how many people are aware of his existence.

Hey Tom, I was just browsin' the internet and came across some pictures you did for an interview. I clicked on one of them to enlarge it and came to a page that said something (in the address bar) along the lines of "http://www.gunnerkrigg.com/junk/characterquestion.jpg". And out of sheer curiosity, I took off the "characterquestion.jpg" part of the address and got an animated backdrop of Gunnerkrigg and some music. My question is: What is that music? Is that the official music of Gunnerkrigg or something? And did you pick it out yourself? Because it's inspired me to write some fan music of my own.
EDIT: I actually found the answer to my question way back at the start of this thread. That still won't stop me from making some fan music, though.

Though being found out is really a danger of spying in general. I guess what I'm asking is why is it so dangerous to be exposed on that plane of existance? Is annie in more danger around reynardine there then she is in the physical world? It isn't dangerous. It's just not recommended. There isn't a play on words going on here, or any hidden meaning. The punchline of the page is that Annie thought she could be near to Reynardine by using the Blinker stone, but that wasn't the case, since Renard could easily see her. So ethics aside, using it to spy on someone like, say, Kat, would be perfectly fine?

I have gone too long without asking more questions. www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=98Why are the tick-tock's toucan birds and not, say, owls? www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=133www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=335Why do the psychopomps visit Annie? When she's in trouble and they have a gift to give her, I understand, but when she's doing fine, reading a book in some shade, why bother her? (My guess is cause she'll see them anyway, but still, I get the feeling she doesn't want to see them at all....) www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=520www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=521She didn't touch the stone, so... how'd that work? (I thought she was supposed to touch it with her mind or something...) www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=521So Donald and James are possession proof... from Reynardine only, or from all forms of possession? (like, Coyote) www.gunnerkrigg.com/archive_page.php?comicID=275Ever gonna tell us, the curious public, what happened, or are you gonna allude to it for the remainder of the comics life? (a shorter story can make cleaver use of allusions to past events, but a longer one basically demands answers to what happened, so I guess what I'm asking is how long do you think you can get away with not telling us the whole story?)

1, Because I drew a toucan, and not an owl.
2, To see how she's doing.
3, She touched the stone off-panel.
4, From Reynardine specifically.
5, What happened between Surma, James and Antony will be part of the story later on.

In the sixth panel of today's comic, who is Annie addressing? Mort or Kat?

And on a related note to snes' question, to help steer arguments about today's comic in the right direction, what sorts of actions can a blinker stone giver perform through his or her gifted stone?
Part two of that question is: can Mort spy on Annie because he gave her her stone?
