Do you ever plan on telling Living-Mort's story, or is he going to be Mort Post Mortem to us forever? (I for one hope the latter!)
Thanks!

Did anyone ever really dislike Surma? That girl in high school, stewing in the corner of the classroom, thinking about how much they wanted to pop that smarmy popular girl in the face, she think she's so good...
(Sorry for asking, couldn't resist)
(Of course, I suppose as successful mediator one of the key facets of her personality was her get-along-with-people-ness...)

So far in the story we have found out that a couple of guys fancied her, she had a couple of friends, worked as a medium, got married and had a kid. To some people this means she was a huge super slut.

Tom,
Has the forum consciously or unconsciously influenced the way the story has developed?

Nope.

Tom, are you considering making an official Gunnerkrigg entry on Top WebComics, or are you going to let the current unofficial one just go on?

Is Renard the same person as Reynardine, or his father like in the myths (or at least the version of them I read)?

Renard and Reynardine are absolutely the same person/creature in my comic.

Tom, how do you feel about the comic's seemingly wide appeal? Man and woman, young and old alike seem to enjoy it, judging from what I've seen and heard.

I was hoping it would appeal to a wider audience. No point in intentionally making the story inaccessible to certain people.

The names Renard and Reynardine seem semi-interchangeable, but I'm sure there's significance behind the two. Is there a point in his personal timeline where he stopped being Renard and started being Reynardine?

Right around the time he left the forest and went into the Court.

Have you ever considered making bonus pages and selling prints of them?
Most of the comic - being very much story-based - isn't very interesting to buy in separate pages. You have, however, created fairly nice "filler" pages in the past (I couldn't find anything without going through the whole archives) and I'm pretty sure that you'd be able to get something pretty done. For instance, with the current storyline it should be possible to think of something where some main characters of the story are visible.

I do make bonus pages. There is one between each chapter, before the next chapter's title page.

When that robot says "Scarper, Montgomery", is Montgomery the other robot's name/designation, or is it just something that sounds funny?
If the former, do most or all robots have names or name-like designations and not just labels like #13?
And if so, are they handed out by the people who run the Court, adopted by the robots themselves, or both?

Montgomery was the other robot's name. Some robots have names, others don't, usually names are decided by the robots themselves.

Some quick technical (I guess you could call them that) type questions.
1) How big is boxbot, size and weight-wise?
2) What sorts of uniforms do the students have? We've seen rain gear, their standard uniforms, and that jacket, that I can think of. Is there anything else, and if so, what is there?

1, He's about the size of a shoebox. He probably weighs about as much as a remote controlled car the same size.
2, There is GC standard issue clothing for any type of garment required, from protective wear to formal wear, sports wear outdoor wear and so on. The students' clothing usually has the GC logo on it, but adult clothing doesn't usually have it.

Um, where did you get this idea from? I'm pretty sure Cthulhu acts in no such manner. I believe cthuhlu in this case is being confused with Nyarlathotep, who is sometimes known as a messenger to azathoth. Cthulhu does send dreams to humans sometimes, but it usually makes them insane instead of providing information. Neither of them would escort dead because in the mythos, there is nothing to look forward too, if anything at all. You're obviously better read than I am; I've only read about half of his stories so far, but I've read enough to realize that you're actually right. Kudos. As for a question, are there any particular books on mythology that you would reccomend?

I'm not Tom, but nonetheless, I think you might be interetsed to know that Mike Mignola of Hellboy fame says the following books are essential parts of his library:
1) The Encyclopedia of Witchcraft and Demonology - Rossell Hope Robbins
2) The New Larousse Encyclopedia of Mythology
3) The Fairy Books (Orange, Red, Green, etc;) edited by Andrew Lana
4) The Encyclopedia of Fairies and British Folktales and Legends - Katherine Briggs
5) Faeries - Brian Froud and Alan Lee

She changed her last name from Stibnite to Carver, yes.

Okay some questions for you, please do ignore them if they've already been asked!
1) I see you learned to lock-pick solely for the research for this comic. How many other useful things/talents have you learned from Gunnerkrigg Court? How much time do you devote to researching and confirming facts/information?
2) Could you share some favorite comic books/graphic novels or webcomics of yours from artists/authors you really admire? (i know you typed up some influential people, but was wondering what books you really admire/love a lot)
