I can't believe how happy I am that the first thing green guy says in the entire story is a smart-alec one-liner. Perfect.

Did Coyote teach Annie how to do that totem trick? Would be both sad and ok if he became an animal next...

I know this is going to sound odd, but this feels right to me. Not that I'm not worried about Smitts. Just that Jeanne and her beau need their moment – they've only been waiting scores of years. I just hope Annie's vow that Jeanne is the last time she'll Guide anyone to the other shore is true, and that that means she won't be taking Smitty (and hopefully that means he won't be dying).

This is good, but...
I'm REALLY worried that, just as Jeanne makes her exit with her beau, she's about to get a replacement.

C'mon Annie, at least let them smooch once before you snuff out the last bit of their existence for good. Am I the only one who thinks Annie should let them have some time (a couple years/decades) together before sending them to the unknown of the other side? The court could use a replacement for Mort after all She might not have the power to grant ghosts the ability to stay--remember the RotD and the afterlife guides are different "departments." Also, as far as Mort-replacements go, I doubt either Jeanne or the elf would want to remain trapped in Gunnerkrigg Court, which Jeanne herself described as a prison during life. Plus,

Yeah, I mean it's awesome to see Jeanne's rage ghost veneer go away and these two finally being able to move on. It really is. But SMITTY!? Also, it appears the cut on Annie's cheek is back. Wow, good catch! I was going to say that Annie's cut comes back not only when she's fully in the ether, but also in the transition, so to speak - surrounded by a lot of etheric energy (see Crash Course). However, it's notable that she did not have the cut on her cheek when guiding Mort back to the ether in See Ya!I'm going to wager that Annie's cut is about to be healed, and that Smitty will be healed at the same time.

So Elf-guy is pretty smooth. "Strong currents" indeed!

Annie literally plays Charon. I claim a part of the delicious Gunner Cookie. Nothing. Now you can see it. He only tries to asks for two coins for the old penny pincher Charon. So... either Annie forgot to turn her ether-sight on when it's needed… again… or it's tiny. So the dude recognizes what Annie is and holds 4 coins. I guess the first priority is to get rid of the dangerous murder-ghost who stabbed your friend This clearly falls under "avoid adding more victims" principle, indeed. Am a little surprised that a rubber raft plays a role in the guiding. Think Charon will laugh at her?

Some RotD-magic and that boat will be lookin' good that, or Jeanne and Green guy will go all "Who are you?" "How did you suddenly appear?" "What's with the odd clothing?" "How the hell do you steer a boat like that?"

Can we focus on the fact that Mr. Green looks more alive every moment? It seems like his flesh and skin are coming back at the second. I'm hoping that once Jeane touches him she'll start looking more like herself again, too. *claims my cookie*
