Stop right there! Read these words of Tom. Now work your conspiracy theory around that. All Tom is saying is that Coyote doesn't know about Jeanne. It's Tom's style to mislead us through omission so it's entirely possible that Coyote knew what they were going to do to the Green Man but had no knowledge of Jeanne's involvement. Which begs the question, if Coyote does know about the arrow why would the Court hide Jeanne's involvement? Was Jeanne some kind of respected figure in the forest that Coyote wouldn't want harmed? But then why would he allow the Court to use her lover as fodder for this plan? I've always believed that Coyote knew, in some form, about the arrow because etherically sealing the ravine was an undertaking of several orders of magnitude and that's the exact thing to draw Coyote's attention. Yeah, my thought on the matter was always that Coyote didn't know anything about what was going to happen until after it did, when suddenly there was something Big and Nasty (i.e. Jeanne) preventing anything from crossing to the Court side. Which is why the court was then able to build the bridge on their terms. Personally, I'm on the "He's holding Jeanne's heart" train, but we'll see Wednesday (hopefully!).

Could it be... seed bismuth? That would be odd, though more unexpected things HAVE happened in this comic... But how would he have gotten his hands on it? As far as we're aware he's just a nondescript member of the Anwynn.

Darn it, I was going to say the seed bismuth just because no one had said it yet. So, just because it's been a while, I'm going to guess...Brinnie. ETA: pounce, nice job putting the word bubble behind Kat's head in that edit!

Wouldn't surprise me a bit if it turned out Coyote colluded with the Court to execute this plan. Interfering in the relationship between two lovers separated by the Great Divide, just for my own amusement? Doesn't sound like something I would do, no no! I've always believed that Coyote knew, in some form, about the arrow because etherically sealing the ravine was an undertaking of several orders of magnitude and that's the exact thing to draw Coyote's attention. Not many things are interesting enough to draw my attent –– OOH! A butterfly!!
*exit stage left, pursuing butterfly*All Tom is saying is that Coyote doesn't know about Jeanne. I know quite a bit more than My creator thinks I do, hehe. After all, I have a thousand eyes and one - the better to watch this forum with! Was Jeanne some kind of respected figure in the forest that Coyote wouldn't want harmed? Ah, now that, that is an interesting question, yes yes! What would give me in exchange for the answer?

I just want to know what Jeanne's lover's name is and who he was when he was alive. Diego called him a "traitor", so he might've been someone important. Maybe he was some kind of double agent? Or perhaps he was someone who was originally on the courts' side, but defected to the forest because he didn't want to abandon the other Anwyn after the divide? Or Diego could have been using the word "traitor" loosely as a mere insult, rather than by its strict definition.

I looked at the interior of the trap and immediately concluded that it's a monkey trap.
Mr. Green could have gotten out any time... if he were to drop whatever he's holding in his hand.
(However, that's the Katrina-view version. He may have perceived himself as being inside the lock, like Antimony did, and not realized it was that simple.)

Then it makes even more sense that he holds Jeanne's heart in his hand. By refusing to "drop her heart" = "forsake their love",which he apparently steadfastly refused to do, he remained trapped, and thereby trapped her as well. Cunningly evil, Diego! They are trapped by the very resilience of their love....

Annie: "What is in your hand?" Green Man: "Huh? Oh, my hands were stuck for ages like this. Tell me, did Jeanne get scissor?" "I really hope she got scissor, this time..."

Well, well, I think it's time for a high deck bet on What is GreenGuy (a.k.a. GG) holding in his hand? I put all my remaining cookies on:
A blinker stone!
I lack the proboards juju to link the pages where it waa explained its significance on couples. Would that link them on a way that neither Court nor Forest would want?

(That would make her the ultimate Killer Bride, Tarantino anyone?)

My immediate, overly sentimental, and most likely wrong guess is a ring he planned to give Jeanne. Exactly what I thought! And I also agree, probably wrong. He's got the whole world in His hands... Thanks, now that song got stuck... My money's on Jeanne's heart! - -I think it's been mentioned that her heart was trapped at the bottom of the river. I looked at the interior of the trap and immediately concluded that it's a monkey trap. Mr. Green could have gotten out any time... if he were to drop whatever he's holding in his hand.
