A bit inconsequential, but it just hit me. It's confirmed: you can punch a ghost But it is the kind of ghost that can cut you up, so it's only fair

Because the illusion is on the verge of failing anyway. Someone has to keep Jeanne busy, because she is fast. They can't risk her even noticing the presence of any of the non-figThe hters, because chances are the moment she does, they're dead. The illusion was fading because she was fighting. The illusion was starting to fall apart long before that. They only began to fight in the first place because Jeanne noticed that something was not right.

Annie's interaction with the arrow seems to have been the start of the struggle to keep Jeanne in the illusion. It appears that whatever link Jeanne has with the device (or her lover who is trapped in the device) gives her an awareness of it powerful enough to break through Blue's illusion and keep it from fully holding her.

So Robot distracted Jeanne from the real source of the disruption, and now hopefully George and Blue can get her back into the illusion.
Now I'm thinking that Annie has the Giggleblade and perhaps will use it to break the arrow... from the inside.

I suspect it's more likely that Kat's mysterious " aha" moment which inspired her " don't make me use it" comment with both be the groups salvation and further complicate things in new and unexpected ways. I wonder what sort of a timeline Tom is working on for his plot arcs? Will the story continue through the end of graduation? If so is the plan for Annie to rejoin her class somehow and graduate with them or stay a year behind and does that mean involving new characters - which - so far - we haven't seen any indication of. The story could wind down before graduation. It could continue beyond graduation. We've got a lot of plot arcs currently weaving through the comic, some of which seem to be converging but there are still so many directions they could go in and so many unanswered questions to investigate.

My limited (and possibly incorrect) understanding of the general British school system (roughly equivalent to the US K-12 schools) is that the last two years are a single "form" and considered optional, a closer equivalent to a US junior college than to the latter years of US high school. Absent further changes, Antimony will enter that form one year later than Katrina and Paz, but could share classes with them in that year and finish school with them.

Remember, she's still sitting in the boat with Kat.

But wouldn't it be more likely Parley has it, as a backup sword?

The illusion was fading because she was fighting. The illusion was starting to fall apart long before that. They only began to fight in the first place because Jeanne noticed that something was not right. And the fight only made it harder for Blue to maintain the illusion. Their strategy for dealing with her is only making things worse.
