To be fair, at the tail end of that chapter she was putting on the full disney princess act what with beaming smiles and dancing in circles and stuff.
Right now, this blank confusion seems rather natural considering her history and Carver-ness.

Annie seems unusually chill about all of this. I wonder if she's just holding it in the same way that she did before Mort was passed on to the Ether, only to break down later... I don't think she's in a state to manage that at the moment. (Although... maybe that little exercise with the bowling ball has *finally* allowed her to regain her inner balance, and spider hunting Zimmy can be retired.)

I really see no need for her to be "holding it in", there's nothing to hold in, she barely cares about the whole situation
