Last panel = the best panel.
This is not negotiable.

Parley looks like she's gonna freak out or something. I find that amusing. I also love Annie's little smile. Can't wait for Friday's comic.

Anyone think that Jones already knew about Annie and Mort? Maybe she intentionally arranged this so Andrew and Parley would be impressed with Annie, as a favor to help Annie fit in.
If Parley was impressed with a card trick, I bet this will make her really flip out.
Jo's explanation of how "both sides are as bad as the other" seemed to address both Parley's and Annie's observations about the meeting. I wonder why she had nothing to say about Smith's insight...

Maybe it doesn't fit her agenda (whatever that is).

I like that this is the same hallway we saw in ch 4 (and possibly the same room where Mort met Kat in ch 9).

Mort is my favorite character again... how had I forgotten about him?
I wonder if the forest has mediums, or just the Court. And why the mediums aren't part of a third, completely neutral party that is in no way associated with the forest or the Court.
I can just imagine when Jones was arranging the meeting Mort saying something along the lines of "Hmm... I'm kind of busy, I'll try to pencil you in on Tuesday, sound good?"

I don't see Jones having favorites...

I think she is invincible as far as physical attacks are concerned. thus she makes a great medium. It is always nice to survive cultural misunderstandings and so on. Nevertheless, when an actual medium is needed, the school sends forward Parley and Smith, and not Jones.

Do we know that parley and smith were actually needed? it might be sending forth pawns to see the reaction of your opponent. Jones is training Parley, Smith, and now Annie to be mediums. Considering George has shown no supernatural ability, I think Jones is more qualified to be a medium than those two. In my opinion, the meeting between the forest and the court was filled with more intrigue than meets the eye.

mind you, she was still present at that meeting. Good point. I'm sure Jones would have stepped in if things got really serious and Eggy+the Donlans were unable to handle the situation.

I wonder what the skinless creature was in the second panel. If it wasn't for its birdlike head, I would have thought it a nuckelavee.

Bird-head? I thought it was just a canine, turning its head to the side and holding its nose high in the air.
(I also assumed those red lines were just a pattern, like on Coyote or the Cŵn Annwn, though I see the resemblance to muscles now.)

A guard is one sided and will kill the opposition. As a medium she would have stepped in to quail both parties

Maybe she guards the balance between both sides. Much like the Inquisition or the Twilight in the Night Watch tetralogy.
