I think I spotted a chikcharney on this page, haha. (Okay, there are to many people with Fire Annie icons. I'm gonna have to find something new.) How about this? Oh, that one's great, thanks! You could post that to the Avatar thread. (ninja'd) I'm gonna go with this guy for the time being:

Is Coyote going to break the forth wall again? He did it once before (maybe even twice), seems like something he likes to do. Also, in the middle "panel" it looks like Annie and Coyote are basically playing "the floor is lava", haha.

Coyote, what a sensible and even-tempered fellow. I'm sure the situation will resolve itself quickly and calmly now that he's involved.

Wow, look at all those holes in Ysengrin's brain-tree.

Coyote has a name and eyes. Ysengrin has a name and eyes. Coyote made friends with a girl, no name and no eyes. All the animals have eyes but the girl as drawn has no eyes. Interesting Coyote-centric story. I'm loving the style of this narrative and drawings.

I'm kind of surprised how Coyote is only featured twice on this page of his story that he is telling himself.

Interesting; it appears that Annie is attractive not only to ghosts and guides, but even to more powerful and unpredictable beings of the etherium. I still can't stop chuckling over the Etheric Cuddle Pile scene.

Can I just briefly say it's a little heartwarming that Coyote really does consider Annie a friend? She's not an amusement, or a pawn, or any other negative thing you might fear a god-like trickster might see her as, but a friend.

I'm digging the art style. It's divine. Tom probably had a time-limited license to use the fonts of the comic, which has now expired. From now on, he has to draw all the text by hand. I'm looking forward to hand-drawn ale and wenches speech balloons. Called it! Although it's not Ale and wenches, but the new font is nice as well. Just when I decide I'm going to translate every new page in Dutch. Does anyone know what this font is, or is it really handwritten? Can I just briefly say it's a little heartwarming that Coyote really does consider Annie a friend? She's not an amusement, or a pawn, or any other negative thing you might fear a god-like trickster might see her as, but a friend. That is exactly what I thought when I saw the page this morning.

I really like the perspective change to Coyote now , because i worried the plot might be at a standstill due to the end of the last chapter being what it was.

After all, dear Renard was my friend, and look what happened to him! Sent to suffer in the Court, which was oh so entertaining, the silly lovesick fool. Fire-Head Girl has been promoted to "only allowed to get hurt if it's REALLY funny". See, I do care about her! I'm kind of surprised how Coyote is only featured twice on this page of his story that he is telling himself. Now, now, shhhhhh. Dry your tears, child. *pat pat*This is not a day of mourning. After all, there will be plenty more pages to feature my glorious, magnificent self!! You'll all get your Coyote fix, yes yes! *continued preening*

She's not an amusement, or a pawn, or any other negative thing you might fear a god-like trickster might see her as, but a friend. That is exactly what I thought when I saw the page this morning. Why would "friend", "amusement", "pawn", and "meal" be mutually exclusionary terms for Coyote? I'm sure Coyote has some stories of how he "became friends" with Renard and Ysengrin, after all. Which didn't slow him for an instant from doing any of the things he later did to them. Heck, he might even have a story of how he "became friends" with the wisp falsely posing as the seed bismuth, and now another story about how clever he was to sneak up on and devour the exact same wisp. Likewise, the Absolutely First Thing "friend" Coyote did to Annie when he got her to agree to spend the Summer in the Forest was attach a curse-bind to her wrist that would saw her hand off if she disobeyed him. Later, he nastily crammed his so-called Great Secret down her throat in front of Ysengrin, knowing this would soon set Ysengrin off into Attempted Murder territory. With a "friend" like Coyote, no one needs any enemies. Calm detachment from the glib self-aggrandizements of a Master-Class Liar would always be advisable.

Just when I decide I'm going to translate every new page in Dutch. Does anyone know what this font is, or is it really handwritten? Judging by how the letters differ (easiest seen on the Ts and Ls because of the long straight lines) it's written, but you could just use a block-writing font and add dots to the Os.

Just a conjecture: the best tales about Coyote are autobiographical. (and the eyes: glass ones?)

I miss Gunnerkrigg update and I find mythological and folklore based art on my return. yay. I love it when a chapter goes weird.
This reminds me of an Icelandic manuscript which can't be translated because of the unknown writing. does anyone know the name of that one?, starts with V i think.

It seems there is a pictorial delineation between the forest dwellers and the Court dwellers. Eyes are connected to having souls and seeing. I just find it interesting that of all the beings shown Annie has no eyes. Could be stylistic or could be commentary. Coyote could see the people from the Court as having little or no soul and perhaps a bit blind and he's the one telling the story.
