man I almost had it. I knew a girl with a guy's name in kindergarden. I liked her so I made fun of her for it, and I also pulled on her pigtails.

I don't think this is just playing. Maybe Andrew doesn't mean anything by it, but Parley seems to be reacting like she's genuinely hurt.
Or maybe not. Maybe she always flips out like this when something embarrasses her.
I like the panel of Jones nodding.

hehe. and thus ends the reign of Parley Parley. All hail King George!! I do remember a series by Enid Blyton called the Famous Five where the lead girl went by the name George. Those were a pretty ok read.

Hilarious, I love how she's head locked him. He's brought up her dirty linen infront of the skilled newbie who spoke to the god and nearly got shish kababed by the big tree doggy and is now WIDELY known to be harboring a body snatching monster whose a relative of afore mentioned God.
is jones noding to confirm its true to annie? Does Annie have an asking look?
I think this is embaressing enough to parley without him saying that her name stuck cause everyone taught it was hilarious, just dooming her to be called george all her life.

Nod-nod indeed, Jones! Parley finally gets her share of touching Smit.

Oddly, my reaction to the nod was that it's confirmation that these two are an item--even if they don't know it yet.
In a way, I'm glad to see Parley taken down a notch--she deserved it after making fun of Smith's talent when she has none at all, and is riding on her Father's reputation.
On the other hand, she carries a deck of cards around to demonstrate it. I think she's secretly thrilled with it, and with him.
But then, I have a tendency to see romance everywhere. I'll wait for more information before I start pushing it too hard.

to me, the nods are confirmation of smith's story, most importantly that george will have psychic powers.

Next question: if she could have her name changed, what would she like it to be ?

So Parley's abilities haven't emerged yet (if they ever will).
Something tells me that, unless Parley settles down, Annie is not going to be learning that much in these classes (except in the private conversations with Jones before Parley joins them).

"Smit's parents will have to be pretty understanding when he and George get married like thay are totally gonna." "Do you Eyebrows take George to be your lawfully wedded wife?" Yup, that's some pure wackiness right there ;D

George isn't THAT odd a name for a girl if its short for Georgia or something. But then I'm just thinking of Dead Like Me.
I love how you can just tell that Smith has this whole story rehearsed in his head. He's just been waiting to embarrass her. =D

"Smit's parents will have to be pretty understanding when he and George get married like thay are totally gonna." I'll file this one with the comment about monster trucks and rockin' electric guitars.

I don't think this is just playing. Maybe Andrew doesn't mean anything by it, but Parley seems to be reacting like she's genuinely hurt. Or maybe not. Maybe she always flips out like this when something embarrasses her. I like the panel of Jones nodding. A lot of people I know who are like Parley (loud, border-line obnoxious, like to tease others, completely unaware of the definition of "personal space", etc.) get really touchy when they get teased themselves, so I'm guessing Parley's probably the type who can dish it, but can't take it. She's probably so used to teasing Smit, having the reverse happen just throws her off. Plus, anything to do with gender or names tends to be a really touchy subject, especially for kids or teenagers. I mean, have you ever heard two teenaged guys go at it about who's a "girl", or who's less of a "man"? I've seen a few arguments about gender that were just downright ridiculous, they were so intense. Girls with boy names have it tough, too; I knew a girl once who was teased mercilessly because her name was Benny (unfortunately, even though it was a nickname, it just covered up a name that was much worse ) Anyways, my point is that the name thing just seems like a normal reaction coming from someone Parley. What I'm wondering is what Jones meant when she said Parley had "shown some promise." Does this mean she has actually displayed some kind of psychic powers, or just that she seems to have the type of personality that a psychic would normally have?

This is just so awesome. What I find funniest is that teasing poor George seems to be the only thing (we've seen) that Smit really enjoys. Just look at him smiling, he's really in his element, whereas every other time we've seen him he's just been sorta standing there, unless George (Parley never again) has been bothering him. He showed off his power of effectively reversing entropy and breaking on of the most fundamental laws of physics with an enthusiasm usually reserved for answering telephone surveys, but reveals George's most embarrassing secrets with a big gleeful grin on his face. But then George is cute when she blushes. Also, George is the Boy Named Sue reversed.

Also, George is the Boy Named Sue reversed. This has been stuck in my head all day, and I don't even know the damn song! Also, Smith was actually smiling when Jones described his ability.

The next little random art bit to go up (like the Halloween costumes and whatnot) should be of Parley and Smit in wedding attire. It would be adorable!
Even funnier, Parley wore the tuxedo, Smit wore the dress and has an expression on his face to reflect his predicament.
Maybe he lost a bet and agreed to take a photo like that.

But who did he/they lose the bet to? it must be both of them, because George probably doesn't want to wear a tuxedo.

Or to Janet.
