There are two chairs available. The other one is with the desk. Hopefully they will bring them together and no end up sitting on the floor. I hope we are in for some exposition and flash backs. I honestly first read this as "I hope we are in for some explosions..."

Or, of course, the "week" is a joke. Tom has edited his comment "Yeah that was a joke, sorry." (I think this is an edit. Before today, wasn't it just, "Yeah..."?

Anthony certainly seems looser when it's just him and Kat's dad. I guess that's why he took Annie's blinker with him, so she could see what's really on his mind.

Pretty sure 1545's has been what it is since it was posted, unless he edited it really quickly after posting (Like, before this thread had more than a page). Or maybe I'm just going batty.

I think it's interesting that Anthony has made two jokes here, both hinging on self-awareness. The first is about his tendency to be brusque; the second is about his tendency to be obsessive.
So. He knows exactly how brusque and obsessive he comes off as, he knows exactly how cartoonishly off-putting he is when it comes to both, and he has no intention of changing either.

As far as we know, he believes his bone-lasers worked, and he thinks he emotionally lobotomized his daughter... No, his head pigeons must have told him. due to the eminent threat of pregnancy. I still don't get that, at all. If this makes no sense even to yourself, then why do you repeat it? So. He knows exactly how brusque and obsessive he comes off as, he knows exactly how cartoonishly off-putting he is when it comes to both, and he has no intention of changing either. How the latter follows from the former?

Did Anthony Carver. Just. Quip? British comedians tell Tony his humor's too dry.

Hello! Long-time reader, first-time poster here.
It occurs to me that Donald is placing a lot of trust in Annie. He can't know exactly what's going to happen here, but evidently he feels that whatever it is, she will be able to handle it. Or at least, that she deserves a chance to. I mean, he didn't have to ask for the blinker stone; he could have just gone to see Tony and then told her about it afterwards, which would have given him the chance to edit (not knowing that Rey is eavesdropping, of course).
Possibly he thinks that Annie might find it hard to believe what he says about her father, and the stone solves that problem. But it's a risk. There are undoubtedly things going on that she's not supposed to know about, and this could blow that wide open. It's telling that he either trusts her enough to let her in on some of her father's secrets, or just considers that she's suffered enough in ignorance, and is willing to let the chips fall, etc.

The risk that Donnie is taking is that what Tony is going to say might be something worse than he anticipates. It could be something that hurts and angers Annie more. Donnie obviously wants to believe good of Tony and I think he has no way of knowing what Tony tried to do in Divine. I think what Donnie is trying to do is to get Annie to understand and see past Tony's emotional communication problems. What he is overlooking is that if there are good faith attempts to communicate then those intimately connected to someone like Tony will pick up on different cues from the usual ones. This obviously happened with Tony and Surma. That it didn't happen with Tony and Annie is revealing.

Or he is placing a lot of trust in Tony. Or he thinks it cannot get any worse than it is for Annie, so the only way is up. Best guestbook comments:
