My guess is she is going to spy on Anthony via the ether, I suspect his etheric form will be shocking.

I can't help but recall the fairies. Dutifully taking notes externally, while playing in the ether secretly. The closed eyes do make me wonder about the ether.
The fairies proved that your body can take in knowledge and act even while your etheric body is doing something else. Perhaps this also acts as an emotional barrier- so not only is Annie able to express herself without him knowing, she's not as hugely impacted by her dad while she's disconnected from her body.
I don't believe she's interacting with anyone. Or, at least, she wasn't before now. Renard showed no sign of having been contacted by her. The forest as well, from what Parley and Andrew said.
It makes me wonder what she's doing, if she is in the ether.
The next page will be very telling, I think. It will be the first time we've seen Annie purely alone since her dad came back. She may cry. She may scream. She may set the room ablaze. Saddest of all, I think, is if she just silently sits down and starts doing her homework.

Friday's page calmed me down with an assurance that resolution to this problem is coming, though it may take some time, and that all three Donlans will do what they can to help. Today's page tells me that Annie is not completely broken, that on Wednesday we will see strength from her in the form of using/going into the ether and thwarting Tony's efforts to isolate her, being a "Sneak", resisting, and/or working on a solution.
Also, Smitty may have been to the forest since Tony showed up (http://www.gunnerkrigg.com/?p=1517). I would not be surprised if Annie had Smitty deliver her blinker stone there. I would be very surprised if the stone is in her room as opposed to with someone she can communicate with. I do hope she spent the summer practicing.
I suppose I would be okay if she decorated her room with burn mark art.

This dream sequence is way to long for my taste.

Yea, I get the feeling a breakdown is incoming, like you all say.
I'm picturing a panel or two of calm, then a hint of tears, then she slumps to her knees with hands over her face, bawling.

Annie looks ... happy?
You're all doomsayer, you know that? I actually think Annie is just, in the middle of everything else, enjoying walking with her father she was deprived of for so long.

Joy, one of the first semi nice things he's said to Annie so far. Also, do the proportions in the fourth panel seem kinda off to anyone else? Either Annie's head is HUGE, or Anthony's head is tiny. She has a case of "protagonist head". This chapter sure is still going. I keep thinking the next page will be the end, and it keeps not ending. I'm really curious what this is all supposed to be leading toward I bet you, the moment she is alone in her room, she breaks down crying. Or perhaps we'll get to see her image in the ether. My guess is she is going to spy on Anthony via the ether, I suspect his etheric form will be shocking. Or hers will be. Annie looks ... happy? You're all doomsayer, you know that? I take it the slightly scruffy look is about as casual as Anthony gets. Looks good on you, Tony. Wanna try a smile? No? Alright.
I can think of only one way the next page can make me happy. And somehow the idea of Tony stopping her just before she goes in to offer to let her sleep at his house from now on doesn't seem very possible.
It's like... I don't like this situation at all, at least no more than anyone else here definitely, but something about Anthony seems oddly human in comparison to the dictator-like character he first appeared. A few itty bitty things here and there that make me think he's not totally in control. And he's confused, but thinking very hard about what the right thing to do is. And I guess part of me is just hoping he'll figure it out in his own way and just let out a tiny crack of kindness. May not be likely, but hey, no evil characters right?

Smashcut to Anthony clenching his hand into a fist in his pants pocket. I half-expect a cut to Anthony(?) stopping because the passage is blocked by angry Kat flanked by a few tons of unamused steel. After the previous page, she may think that it's time for a different approach - if polite talk doesn't work, start speaking in Kzer-Za. It's not quite in character, but she may be sufficiently freaked out. This actually made me think. It's so not-Annie to act like that... Maybe she's acting, and following some subvertive plan of hers? She didn't gave Tony command over Renard, so she's not totally honest with him already. Not necessarily, if the rest of her higher functions works as well as her will, even Kat could have tricked her. Maybe she's been doing some etheric spying on the man? I even consider apparent Tony not being who he claims he is. One way, or another (or third, or four...) - it's a possibility. Or perhaps we'll get to see her image in the ether. Most likely.

I'm not makin' any guesses this time. That's a losing game right there If you're not gonna guess, what is the point of the forum? Lets see: - Shipping!
- Banning people for shipping.
- Very strong political opinions.
- Banning people for wrong political opinions (that is, too conservative).
- Fanfiction.
- Banning people for wrong kind of fanfiction (that is, too smutty, wrong political opinion, wrong religion).
- Bashing the author for taking the story to wrong direction.
- Banning people for that.
- Bitching about the forum rules.
- Demanding people banned.
- Very carefully dancing around banworthy subjects.
- Circlejerking with the mods. Look, no bans!
- "Me too" posts, "I am very emotional about this" posts.
- Making these kinds of posts just to reach the post counter limit, then stopping the forum altogether.
- Tiresome alternative caption thread vol 223 "wish fulfillment".
- Forum games in the main forum. "There's no general discussion." Well, maybe you don't play forum games then?
You guys have totally not figured out how forum work. This is very unacceptable, shame you QC forum for being so decent, etc.

I speculate all the time! Yeesh, a guy declares that he's not gonna make a wild guess in ONE measly chapter, and people suddenly think he's retired!

Speaking of whom. Jones is not a transgendred clone of Annie's dad sent back in time (an' missing by jest a li'l bit)to act as a spy! But now we know why Annie liked the ol' stoneface so quickly. Well, this and honesty. The last-moment prediction: Annie now will out-of-body "walk with" Anthony. Because really, there's not much difference whether he can see her or not.

Annie's expressions in this panel actually remind me a little of the beginning of Fire Spike (though she's a good way off the tipping point right now). The chafing has begun. I expect Annie might be shown dabbling with her blinker stone in her room alone. Well, she better stop that or she might go blind.

All this time, seeing Tony, reading through the pigeon whatsits before then, it's been interesting to observe what's happened on this strip. It also seems that, up to this point, there's been no communication at all between Annie and Coyote. Perhaps there hasn't been, just as it's seemed. However, is everything always just as it seems, especially around Gunnerkrigg Court? (Silly me, of course it is. Whatever was I thinking?)
