She's right, the room is really creepy. It also sounds like Kat has brought up escape attempts with Annie before. Or at least brought up plans that go against daddy's wishes. And Annie does not want to get involved. It's a lab? A storage room? There is a reason the poor kid is living here. |

I like how previously it was only Smit who could trigger teleportation on cue. It appears that Smit & Parley and co are improving their control. Uh, it has been stated (and shown, multiple times) in the comic that Parley can teleport at will |

1. Parley and Smitty are also wearing clothing that indicates cool weather (Parley's turtleneck sweater at least). But we still don't know how much time has passed since Anthony's reappearance.
I can't imagine that more than a few days have passed, because: the card makes more sense a short time after the event of Annie cutting her hair Anthony wouldn't wait weeks to test Rey's "cooperation" and start asking questions about it Kat is totally burning to DO something and I don't think she'd wait long to call the cavalry and let Smitty and Parley know about the situation and try to bring her parents in.
yeah, I'm guessing it's just the next day or so. Would be weird if it were suddenly much later, there has been no indication a lot of time has passed |

Uh, it has been stated (and shown, multiple times) in the comic that Parley can teleport at will I think peacehammer is referring to the way Kat knew Parley and Smitty were about to teleport into the room. I don't think Kat really knew anything more than that was the right moment for them to appear and she expected Smitty's ability making it happen at the right moment. |

I don't imagine that Annie is too excited for a couple of upper classmen and technically-former-co-workers see her in the Giant White Room Of Shameful Cheaters.
Kat made a good choice in calling them in, though. Annie is not up for listening to Kat's evaluation of her situation and her father's actions. She can too easily tell herself that Kat is just biased and overly protective; same for the Donlan, Eglamore, and especially Reynardine. Parley and Smitty don't know Anthony from Jack (or Jack from Anthony, for that matter) and they're much more removed from the situation. Ideally, she'll be more receptive to their feedback.

I bet they're taking her to the forest, to talk with Coyote or someone about breaking Anthony's juju on Annie.
Why?
Reason A: Parley and Smitty.
Reason B: It might just work.
Reason C: It would lead to interesting dialogue.

Additionally: The Donlans didn't know Anthony had even arrived, and they're only just now inviting him to dinner. I don't think they'd wait very long to meet an old friend. I'm gonna say it's been two days. That gives Annie a full day in class with the younger kids to feel dumb. |

Yay, these guys! Maybe they're planning a raid to steal back Rennard. Actually... Renard is not cooperating with Mr.A, so probably he's just dormant in his doll-like shape. How hard it would be to switch him for an ordinary toy? Tony doesn't look very ether-savvy. Without equipment at least. The last we saw of Rey, he was under orders to be silent and probably to be a plushie. Now Anthony is in charge of him... and nobody has ever terminated that order. So he can't do what Anthony tells him, or answer any of Anthony's questions, without violating an order that is still in effect. And we know that, in any case, he can't be compelled to say things he doesn't want to say. Somebody bring poor Annie a source of heat! |

But since Annie have some unfinished business as a Medium, perhaps a meeting can be arranged. I don't think Coyote will be quiet either. Even more so because he would see Annie as less fun now. Same for 'Grin, plus whatever issues made him throw Anthony's name as a "silver bullet" the first time. Which is another good reason why this may be an impostor, of course. |

If the dinner party is a diversion to get Anthony out of his routine/home then this meeting with S&P will be to plan the concurrent scouting session. Poor Annie, it's going to cause a lot of anxiety, but it will be "worth it" if she regains some of her firehead self.
Also, Smitty's eyebrows: they go up!

I have been avoiding the comic because Anthony Carver makes my stomach churn. I am catching up now, and I am FREAKING OUT!
I'm getting major Rei Ayanami vibes from that room, and taking into account the parallels between Annie/Surma/Anthony and Rei Ayanami/Yui Ikari/Gendo Ikari, and what Gendo wanted Rei for...well, I don't want to think too much about this...
Anyways, Anthony Carver is using well-known old and time tested techniques to brainwash children into compliance, used both by destructive sects and child abusers: He's isolating her from her support net, becoming the only person she can rely on, denying her everything good in her life so when he decides to reward her because she obeys him, anything will look great... As I said, I'm getting very bad vibes, and I don't want to think too much about it...
