Please do not get your hopes up. Ok. But I will not get my hopes down, either.

Amazon has been guessing about the release date ever since ASP missed their original deadline. So, while I haven't given up hope of the book happening, I'm not going to trust any date that comes from Amazon.

Just got the order done. And YA I'm I new reader. Something about good webcomics makes me want to read them as often as possible. Something about great Webcomics makes me want to buy merch and especially the book printed. I actually powered through all of the pages in two days. (my fastest on a webcomic yet) And don't worry if they cancel my order Imma just order it again. I want that book.

Not that it means anything but Amazon USA just coughed up new estimated delivery dates: 12/5/08-12/11/08. Nothing new on the ASP site.

Got this in my mail. emphasis mine. I guess asking nicely is always a solution.
Dear David: I understand your frustration regarding Gunnerkrigg Court (and I'm sure the further frustration of my delayed response, but I've been researching the issues of canceled orders, etc.). GC is one of my favorite books coming from ASP and I do foresee the book releasing soon. We did indeed have some delays and are expecting to see the book out in early December. We've heard Amazon is canceling some orders...much to our dismay as Amazon will not cancel the orders on a title, especially one with as many preorders as this, unless the title is cancelled. And we're not canceling this book. We're working with amazon to resolve this. My apologies for the unrest this is causing. Please be patient. We know once the book releases, you'll love it. And thank you for supporting this and other ASP books. Best, Brian Petkash Marketing Director, Archaia Studios Press 813-784-8576

You know, when I said GC for Christmas... I was joking... and then got this e-mail from Amazon:
Hello from Amazon.com.
We now have delivery date(s) for the order you placed on April 08 2008 06:16 PDT (Order# 102-9228814-5516207):
Tom Siddell (Author) "Gunnerkrigg Court: Orientation" [Hardcover] Estimated arrival date: 12/12/2008 - 12/24/2008
of course, 'cause I live in South America, that might increase the shipping of the book, but anyway... Merry Christmas everyone

Well you officially know more than I do. December eh? That's pretty shit. December is not so bad - maybe it helps turing even more spiders to money, considering cristmas. And there's still the edition from Titan coming in october, maybe.

Amazon Germany just sent me an email:
Tom Siddell (Illustrator) "Gunnerkrigg Court: Orientation" [Hardcover] Estimated arrival date: 10/29/2008 - 11/01/2008
It's probably just another shot in the dark, but I thought I share this with you anyways because of the surprisingly short notice.

Sorry. Amazon should have set the date for December 15th in order to stop sending out those emails.
Not because the book will be out by that date, of course. Just to stop the emails for a while.

Aw, man. Now I'll feel all guilty about pirating this comic off the internet. Before, at least, I had the excuse that the author wasn't selling it to the English-speaking world.

How do you pirate something that is freely available?

Well, I would imagine that if you went to get it in a tall ship, but I don't know how many of those have internet acess.

Seems Amazon UK has 2 versions listed, one that is 'unavailable', the other which was due for delivery 30/10-5/11. Today I received this email:
Dear Customer, We wanted to give you an update on the status of your order # We are sorry to report that the following items have been delayed: Tom Siddell "Gunnerkrigg Court: Orientation: 1 (Gunnerkrigg Court)" [Hardcover] Estimated arrival date: 17/11/08 - 04/12/08 We are sorry for any inconvenience this causes.
-----
Sadness.
Still, everything in the book is available online, so I know I'm not missing out on too much. Looks like Amazon UK haven't bothered to push the delivery date back to 15/12 either.

Anyone know how can I book a copy from Italy? I don't think the owner of my favourite shop could stock copies from here, but I'd like to order the printed edition from internet. Amazon does delivery in my country?

I'm sorry, there is currently no way to get the book in Italy. On the bright side, however, there is no way to get the book in ANY country, so there is no need to feel bad.

Don't you have some online book seller in italy?
I can let amazon.de send the book to whatever address I like. There's a drop-down box that lets you choose from various countries including italy. My guess is that amazon will send anything you want anywhere you want as long as DHL delivers to your country (This probably includes any country in the world) and the law allows it.
If you want to order it, I suggest not ordering via a german site because book prices are fixed in germany which might be more expensive. amazon.uk could be a good choice.
