Now that this page is up in its proper sequence, perhaps Fwip would repost the Freefall link mentioned here?

So, is anybody else thinking that, having heard of the ship's feelings and intentions towards her, Lindsey is coming to make love with him? That all depends on what she considers sex. Though, I doubt they've shared safeword. Maybe, the next page will have the Love Boat screaming, "Red! RED! REEEEED!"

You know, I in just about any other story, a picture like this would leave people thinking "Oh dear God, that poor cruise ship is about to get destroyed!" Gunnerkrigg generates some funny role reversals; who would expect to be cheering for something that resembles an eldritch abomination?
Side note, I hope Lindsey isn't going to just land on the ship, because there's still a LOT of students inside.

Lindsey: HOW COULD YOU!?!?! You put everyone in danger, and for what? All you had to do was ask nicely, like Boxbot did.
Bud: Lindsey!?! You... with BOXBOT? That's terrible!

Back in Ch. 34 it was mentioned as part of sneaking out of the dorms that Merostomatozons have bad eyesight above water. I assume that if Lyn wants to physically intervene that she will have to be at super-close range to tell robots from students. But it was good for the forum to get all the jokes out before mentioning this.

The bots are remotely controlled from the central brain, so all Lindsey has to do is to open the roof of the ship like a sardines tin can, pick the purple sperm whale-shaped thing with her pincers and eat it. Problem solved.

If Paz is not quite ether-aware herself and doesn't expect the same from others, and Annie forgets to use her abilities half of the time, this doesn't mean these guys are equally clueless. Right now there are 4 sorts of moving objects: etherically active living, etherically inactive living, lumps of mostly inert matter and lumps of mostly inert matter carrying a miniature golem-core. If it's visible to her, Lindsey won't need to see in VL more than a silhouette. The real problem would be to discern Robot King's faithful vassals and S13 from the those Seraphs. Also, her "close range" does not equal everyone else's "close range". Size does matter.

Also, her "close range" does not equal everyone else's "close range". Size does matter. Good analysis, small tactical problem with application of that strategy plus robot-crushing limbs in the field: If the targets are in close press (say for example in hand-to-hand combat) it would be tough sorting the wee little targets from each other. Paz would be reduced to running after-action commentary like, "Yes! Got him! Got another! Uh, bad squish... Yeah! That was one! Ooh, that was a student..."

It may even be right under the upper deck. By the way, taking into account why the ship wants to become "alive", I can't write "sperm whale" without feeling dirty. EDIT: I have checked. The sperm whale thing is right under that glass ceiling. Lindsey can grab it without problems and without hurting the kids.
